I'm looking forward to leaving the window open. That is when everyone seems to have wind chimes in their yard. I love the sounds wind chimes make.

I'm looking forward to seeing nature burst into bloom, especially the plants on my patio. I love to finally see some colors and watch my raspberry and redcurrant plants come back to life (promises of sweet summer fruits!).

I am looking forward to the violets and dandelions coming out! I know, I'm weird. I told my daughter last year that we would make dandelion cookies and dandelion jelly, but I couldn't find enough dandelions at the time. Then I saw Soulemama's post about violet jam and knew I had to make that too.

After living with two feet of snow on the ground during the winter, the new blooming flowers are a delightful sight.

As Spring starts today, I'm most excited about my husband and I being able to go outside on the deck and spend time sitting together -- eating, talking and just enjoying each other. He's ill, and his time is short, so the time together is special to us.
I'm also excited about seeing the flowers and trees start to bloom. So pretty!

Grass! We have so much snow in our yard that it is hard to imagine Spring coming any time soon, so until then we will enjoy another fire in the fireplace!

today is the first day of spring, and my 4 year old spotted the first purple crocuses of the season. we had a fun winter of skiing and sledding (and no shortage of snow here in boston), but we are filled with the hope and happiness of the longer, warmer days ahead. many thanks for the chance to win!

Here in Alberta, Canada I can't wait for the snow to finally disappear, that wonderful smell of the soil coming alive, and the sight of the first shoots poking through the ground (love those red rhubarb shoots).

Thanks for the chance to win.
