Around Here

Around here we've been battling a cold.

Anna had it first and then passed it on to me (Chris and Simon seem to be fairly immune so far). It's one of those annoying colds with a stuffy nose, sore throat, and cough.

I worked through it during the second half of last week and then tried to keep it low key this past weekend as it got worse - lots of relaxing on the couch and lots of chicken noodle soup.

I hope to have another Q&A post up for you tomorrow.

PS | I have to tell you that I love that Anna will nap on the couch. I think it makes her feel like a "big girl." She's so cool.

wow! Look how big she is! You share so much with us that it feels as if you and your children are relatives. I have "known" Anna since she was a bubble in your belly, which feels like yesterday! Looking at her on the couch, it just amazes me how fast she has grown up. She's simply precious and has fast become my "favorite child", next to Simon! LOL. Don't worry, I'm not weird or anything. I just don't have kids, and your photos have made me understand why parents always say "my kids are growing so fast" LOLOLOL Precious. TFS .... REALLY!

I love her sweet baby hand in the photo. My daughter is nearly 17. Last week her first grade teacher found a couple of photos she had taken of her in first grade and gave them to me (I teach second grade right down the hall from first grade.) When I could wipe the tears from my eyes, the thing I focused on was her sweet little pudgy hands - she was holding them up to her face and laughing. So I think I am especially tuned in to hands right now.

Hope both you and Anna are on the mend.

Love that photo! Just showed it to my boyfriend and his comment was, "that's awesome. I wish there was a couch big enough for me." :)

I think that the Alice Walker quote is either mis-attributed to, or a takeoff of, a Plato quote. FWIW. :)

Vicks on the bottom of her feet with some warm socks layered on top works wonders. :). Get better soon!
