Project Life | Week Nineteen

Welcome to Project Life | Week Nineteen

First off, I'm still totally amazed that I've kept with this for nineteen weeks. I don't think I've every maintained a project like this consistently for anywhere close to this amount of time (except maybe this blog).

Do I still love it? Yes. Absolutely.

Lots of photos for Week Nineteen - including some cropped to fit the small pockets.

As some of you might have read in my big photo post last week, I go through phases with my photo taking. Lately I've been back "on" again - really loving seeing life through the lens. It feels good to be connecting with my eyes/head/heart again in that way.

The "put on your happy life" is cut from an Old Navy magazine ad. Totally tore that one out immediately.

That bottom photo of toast, strawberries and kiwi was taken with my iphone.

Little tabs are cut from tags from Bananafish Studio. Looks like she just recently updated her shop again - lots of goodies to be found.

This week I also included a photo and some words my Mom emailed me (the bottom yellow flowers). The journal card above includes text from Daily Word. My Mom emails me something related to my One Little Word "light" almost everyday. Love you Mom.

Good job sticking with it!! I did it last year and I found it to be addidictive - I felt very in tune with all the little things I often overlooked. What I liked best was seeing how things changed - small example was my window boxes - filled with snow, then empty, filled with small plants, then overflowing with life and color, then dry, back to snow. After the year ended - I mourned it being over a bit - I had become so used to hunting for little treasures, stories, pictures. I knew I didn't want to keep going for another year because I didn't want it to turn into a "chore" - so now I do a month review but I already treasure what I captured last year and I know I will do it again in a few more years.

Your posts are very inspiring, but I find that I'm still collecting stuff and not actually getting it into the album. I'm thinking that maybe I need to have a specific time set aside to just put it together and call it done. Maybe Mon. evenings? I don't know if I have any totally complete weeks. I think that maybe I should just start with this week, then go back at some other time.

How do you find the time to put it all together? Any advice is appreciated!

I have a deadline each week of finishing the prior week on Monday to post here on Tuesday - that has definitely kept me accountable. I also try to work on it throughout the week - printing a photo or jotting down a story - all really trying to keep it as simple as possible.

Deborah, I'm typically running about two weeks behind in completing my weeks and I'm ok with that. A few weeks back I found myself getting overwhelmed because I felt like I needed to "fill up" the two page spread and I was stuck. What I realized (in a total 'duh' moment) was this was MY Project Life and who says I HAVE TO FILL UP TWO PAGES A WEEK? Not me :-) So every once in a while I only fill up one page and that lets me not get stressed about this very fun project. I find that if I'm struggling to finish a week it's probably because not a whole lot happened that I felt the need to document and one page will suffice....just a thought - happy scrapping!
I totally agree with Ali - keep it simple. If you have other people included in your project, try having them fill out just one card each week, less work for you and more input from them will make it even better! My daughter loves participating, you can check it out here http://sleepyhead922.blogspot.com/2011/04/project-life-week-3.html
