November Studio AE Layout

Welcome to the November Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop!

This month's stamp set is just in time for the upcoming holiday season. Introducing 25 Moments:

Perfect for documenting your December stories. Not a paper scrapbooker? Check out a similar digital version of this stamp set here: Holiday Word Art Vol.2

Here's a look at my layout:

I took some of my December photos from last year and put them together into a photo collage. The journaling talks a bit about my tradition of doing a December Daily. Seeing that image of my albums from the past few years is getting me really excited to pull them out again (I pack them away with my Christmas decorations, books, etc).

Here's a bit about the process:

November Studio AE Layout

I started with a photo collage (I think it was 6x8). I left a border around the edge of about 1/4 inch. Initially I was just planning to do a single page but as I worked through the process I ended up deciding to add the second page with the image of my albums in the basket. Adding that image helped give me a bit more focus on what story I wanted to tell.

November Studio AE Layout

I started off with the circle stamp from the set and Stick Candy ink from Jenni Bowlin. I ended up going with Seed Packet (a darker green ink) but you get the idea.

A 1.5 inch circle punch fits this stamp perfectly.

For the second page I stamped this sentiment and punched it using Marvy Uchida's tag punch.

I ended up stitching it right on top of the photo collage. I drew a border, added "twenty-ten" along the bottom, and played with the Smash Date Stamp on the top.

Here you can see that darker green ink. I paired that punched circle with two little buttons from Evalicious.

Stamped this sentiment from the set using Staz On Black Cherry ink.

And lastly I added some holiday word stickers from Girls Paperie.

This is SO inspiring! I was wondering if those pictures were printed on one 12x12 sheet of Photo paper or how they were done? I am so awed by your design/creative processes and want to learn how to do this printing myself. I get so intimidated by all the technology and never seem happy with the printing. When I look back at home printed pictures they always look faded to me. I wonder how yours always look just like they came from a professional photo processor? I'm sure it all has to do with the printer and paper besides the fact that you ARE a professional photographer and graphic designer! Could you link us back to what equipment you use-I know this gets asked a lot and I'm sorry to ask again. Stalking your December Daily is one of my favorite traditions of the Holidays-I will have to put that in my DD!

Hi Cele - you can check out my list of equipment at the bottom of this page: http://aliedwards.com/about-ali/ali-recommends. The photos I gathered here were printed on a 8.5x11 sheet of photo paper and then cut out.

I love how you pull all the divergent elements together to put your pages together. I am way past the children stage and my grand child lives 1100 miles away. I spend most of my days alone, being disabled and no longer working creates a strong sense of isolation sometimes. I don't know what I would journal about any longer. My days are not very interesting. Do you have suggestions for a single person project? I look at lots of blogs and most are about children/families. What about those of us who don't have access to either? I keep wondering what I would include in a Dec daily or any type of daily journal.
