December Daily™ 2012 | Day Two
I don't usually know in advance what stories I want to tell for a certain day unless we have something planned.
Last night was one of those occasions as we got to see Willy Wonka performed by the Cottage Theater. It's a movie I watched and enjoyed as a kid (the Gene Wilder version) and one that my kids have now watched and also enjoyed. Simon loved it.
My journaling is a simple note to him about the experience and his awesome Christmas spirit.
On the left side I included a piece of the mailer about the play.
On the right I included a photo that Katie took of Simon and I outside the theater.
In Photoshop I added my journaling and some "hello december" word art. After printing I added an "A + S" using BasicGrey letter stickers.
Here's a look at the spread:

I have a bit of an unrelated question, but I always wonder...
Where do you keep all your albums? How do you organize them on shelves, etc?
I struggle with storage, because I want them to be easily accessible so we can look through them. I see that you have many of different sizes, etc.
Would you mind sharing some of your storage or display solutions?

Your children are so lucky to have you as their Mom, they are going to love looking back one day at how you have documented everything, even the little things.
Great Day 2 post.

Love this layout so much! And it is getting me excited for what my 15 year old, Amy, is going to find under the tree this year as her big gift - great seats to see Wicked! I love that Broadway tours across America - Amy spends hours (and I mean hours) in her room listening to show tunes, and I am aniticipating seeing that same sparkle that we both live for in her eyes too! So glad Simon had a great time and wishing you lots more December fun!

Not only are you providing inspiration for my Dec. Daily book, but giving me ideas of fun things to do with my boys! I don't think they've ever seen Willy Wonka... I bet they'd love it too.
Thanks, Ali!

I love the inspiration of this page. I really like the idea of writing a letter to someone. My husband started a new job today, so a letter to him, telling him how proud I am would be great with the photo of him leaving for work this morning!!

Love your typing directly on to the photo. Definitely going to be incorporating that in my PL-style DD this year! Thanks so much - as always - for the inspiration

So fun, I'm thinking of trying to find some local Christmas theater to see since I think I have some time for it this year. Thanks for the ideas Ali!

What a great day for Simon to remember, nice that everyone was there for it too. Great picture of you two, he is looking TALL!!
My daughter was in the Willy Wonka play 5 years ago at her school, it's been our favorite since then!!

What a great photo of you and Simon! Willy Wonka is one of my favorite movies. :-)
I have a quick question for you... how do you blur something out of a photo (for privacy reasons?). I did a google search but can't find a way to completely blur out a line of text from a photo, and I know you've done that before. Thanks!

This is killing me - that the pre-done card had light blue ... the exact color of Simon's shirt! Do things like this always work out for you!?! I'm super jealous! ;)
