GIVEAWAY |  One (1) person will win a Rainproof Bag in the color of your choice from July Nine. US entries only please.

ABOUT | Growing up I wanted to make a hang glider and fly. My mom, being the good parent that she is, encouraged me to make kites instead. And at 10 years old she handed over a sewing machine and so it began. My head could be in the clouds but my feet were still safely on the ground.  The hobby became a craft and after years of self-teaching and chatting up old ladies at various fabric store counters I had found something I loved.

I took a long detour through the college of engineering, a business minor, and then decided to go back to my original passion of creating with thread and fabrics. This is when July Nine was born.

July Nine for those who are wondering is not my birthday (or my pug's birthday). It's inspired by the widest street in the world, July Nine Avenue, located in Buenos Aries Argentina. It now stands for an Oregon based brand focusing on unique American made goods. Patrons find July Nine simple but overwhelmingly functional. July Nine bags are now being carried nation wide from LA to New York, and internationally in Japan, Hong Kong and South Korea. Custom projects range from left handed bags to 125 custom totes for Wieden & Kennedy and their client Diet Coke.

july nine reusable bag
As you read, production is growing and new designs are being patterned, tested and created.  The latest being a reusable bag launched on the website kickstarter. It is currently running through late August.

This bag unfolds into a spacious carry all, and then rolls back up into its leather handle making it very convenient to carry and use when needed.

Thank you for reading our story and I hope you can take part in the upcoming chapters.

I like the idea of a rainproof tote! Not so much because I need it a lot in AZ, but good for pool and kids.

I'm hoping that the rainproof bags will be available at some point at The Duck Store! I work on their Web Team and anything that's "rainproof" is a big necessity in Oregon. I also love the way you have made the reusable bag so compact. I'm still not accustomed to the bag ban here in Eugene and I'm constantly forgetting to grab a bag from the car. I sure hope I win one!
