Week In The Life™ 2020 | Prep Day Coming This Saturday

Week In The Life™ for 2020 starts next Monday, May 11th, 2020.

I am so looking forward to telling stories alongside you coming up next week. It's such a unique time in all of our lives and an awesome opportunity to document what our real life looks like right now.

To help get us all in the mood we are having a Week In The Life™ Prep Day this coming Saturday, May 9th from 9am to 4pm. For those of you who participated in our December Daily® Prep Day the format will be similar.

Here are the details:

Join the Week In The Life™ community for a fun online prep day on Saturday, May 9th. Use this opportunity to finish past Week In The Life™ or Day In The Life™ projects or begin brainstorming ideas you might want to implement in your 2020 project. The classroom will open at 8:30am Pacific with the first live video happening at 9am Pacific. The last live video will be posted at 4pm Pacific.

Cost: $5

At the top of each hour Ali will be live from her office (these will be recorded + available for viewing later) chatting about a specific topic related to this project for 10-15 minutes. The goal is to give you a few ideas and then send you off to work on your own projects, clean up, prep, etc.

Here's a run down of the schedule:

  • 9am Pacific: Welcome + Reason Why
  • 10am Pacific: Make A Plan For Documenting Your Week
  • 11am Pacific: Product Play #1
  • Noon Pacific: Telling Your Story With Words
  • 1pm Pacific: Telling Your Stories With Photos
  • 2pm Pacific: Product Play Idea #2
  • 3pm Pacific: Bringing It All Together In An Album
  • 4pm Pacific: Wrap Up

Each topic will have it's own Lesson within the Classroom. Inside each lesson you'll find the live video, a free download, a challenge, and a spot for conversation in the comments section of the lesson. Live chat will be available for anyone who wants to converse back and forth during the live event.

You're invited to come hang out and get ready for a fun week of documenting!

If you have specific questions you'd like me to address you can let me know in the comments below!

Ali, are you showing foundation pages at all this year? Curious if that is a topic for prep day. Thank you!

Hi! I don't generally do foundation pages for this project - I do that for December Daily® but not usually for this one.

Did you mean how last year Ali made a video setting up her album with cards and the dividers with the rubber words?

That process of repetition was so freeing and I love how I can get this project done in 2 weeks or less!

Yes that is what I meant... the album setup with the formula layout. Thank you for clarifying for me :).

Gotcha! Yes, I'll be sharing that during the Prep Day + then afterwards on my blog as well.

Hi Ali, Can you please tell me if the yellow striped WITL album will be restocked? I'd like to purchase both WITL kits, but hope to get the album as well. Thanks!!

I would love to join, but I can't do it on Saturday. Will this be recorded so I can access everything on a different day?

I assume you don’t need this years kit to participate?

Nope! For the Product Play sections I'll likely be using things from the kits + shop but the rest of it is more about approach :).

I'm thinking about doing this for the first time this year, but it's just me and my dog, will there be ideas/examples for singles with no kids, i.e. how to get yourself in the pictures without having to basically stage your whole day?

Stacey I got the digital cards this year as I’m in uk and they have gratitude card for each day so I’m going to doc what I’m grateful for. Then there is card with day on so I’m going to pick on story per day. Now at the moment we are still in lockdown in the uk so won’t be like normal weeks but I’m thinking of maybe doing the list idea of what reading watching cooking creating etc. dog walks- what I observe on the walk that’s our allowed exercise. My daughter is home from uni and at the moment yoga in the garden I’m going to seek a pic as family don’t like me taking photos. Good luck. X

Ali, I just wanted to leave a message because I absolutely loved both this prep party and the DD one... the hourly format is so great to help encourage me to craft alongside you & everyone else throughout the day and the content & downloads are amazing. I was wondering if you were considering creating any more of these prep parties? They are for sure a hit!

I think a great one you could run on Sat Dec 26 or Sat Jan 2 would be a project life one... create your 2021 title page, come up with your project life plan for the year, some ideas for staying motivated or just pocket pages in general, etc. I would love to see that from you and any other prep parties you come up with! You could also just do a "craft party" Saturday without prepping for a specific project but encouraging people to create with your story kits or other kits.

You are such an inspiration, thanks for all the amazing content!
