Project Life® 2024 | Week 03

Welcome to Week 03 in my Project Life® series for 2024.

This past week we had two major things happening: (1) an ice storm and (2) a trip to Disneyland to celebrate Simon's 22nd birthday. As you'll see below I'm filling a lot of 3 inch x 4 inch pockets (2,  6 inch x 12 inch page protectors) to document the story of this adventure.

Let's dive to the video:

Here's a look at this week via images:

I started off this week by creating a set of journal cards using our  Alphas Are Awesome #10 Stamp Set and a rolling date stamp.

Still loving incorporating the POSCA Paint Pens into my journaling for those little pops of color.

When I got home from our trip a package of  Extravagant Hope from Brandi Kincaid was waiting for me. The "this year" card was included with that kit.

I'm using the recent stitched heart add ons as page-turners for the inserts this week (simply adhering them back to back). I added clear stickers and a couple other word phrase stickers on top of the pocket hearts.

On the back of the "this year" card I added a photo of Simon from Disneyland.

I added a handwritten "twenty two" for his age after I took photos.

I ended up using two  6 inch x 12 inch page protectors with the 3 inch x 4 inch pockets to hold a bunch of photos from our trip. Aaron and I took Simon and his roommate Grace down to Disneyland to celebrate Simon's birthday.

It was so easy to just print out a bunch of my photos to this size and slip them into the pockets. I added label stickers to the top of some of the photos.

On this trip we stayed at Paradise Pier and they had this cute art print in the room to take home.

Along the outside edge I added two of the stitched hearts back to back.

The square art print became a perfect home for a photo with longer journaling on top.

I'm still loving the combination of the longer printed journaling paired with the handwritten journal cards.

I also grabbed one other Paradise Pier card and added a 4 inch x 6 inch photo on the top and adding it in to my album with a piece of Grafix Plastic along the edge.

Two hearts back to back along the outside edge here too.

Keeping it simple with label stickers on top of some of my photos and quick handwritten journaling on top.

I love having a home for all these fun photos from this trip!

Keeping it loose + imperfect + getting those pockets filled!

Just do it! it's such an easy way to create some consistency across the pages too! And it does NOT have to be perfect!!!

Love these pages! Looks like a great trip! Simon reminds me of Indiana Jones in these photos! Love how you used the hearts to turn the pages too. 🩷

Yes! That was his first day vibe for sure. He switched to Jedi robes on Sunday.

Let’s call them “page turners” (while I sing Turn the Page by Bob Seger).

Hi Ali, I can't believe Simon is 22!! This spread is so inspiring :)
I was in Disneyland with my family for my bday at the beginning of this month and had a blast. I learned that Guardians is my favourite ride as well, hehe. Thanks for sharing.

I can't believe I did not see you there. Me and my girlfriends were there on Saturday. The rain scared the locals so the park was not as crowded. It was super fun.

Love the idea of the hearts as page turners! I tend to hoard these type of hearts so this is an excellent way to use them. And Simon! He’s so grown up. It is always jarring in January, since I rewatch storytelling with December Daily and see him as a little guy. Happy birthday to him and man he seems to be thriving. What a wonderful trip thanks for sharing.

Love the 5x7 inserts. That's an easy size I can get locally and not sure why I've never done one that size before!
