Christmas Art Journal Days 8 + 9
Just catching up with the days I missed last week. A simple one and then one that is a little less restrained.
Created the photo gathering in Photoshop and then printed it all out together.
Decorative tape at the top and bottom from Heidi Swapp. Alphabet patterned paper from Mustard Moon. Clip on top from Lil Davis. Word stickers from Making Memories.
Loved my bookbinding class today. It was just the basics but cool enough to get me inspired to sign up for the next class which gets into more hardbinding techniques. Nice to be the student for a change.
Love it! Thanks for inspiring me to catch up.

i think it's catch-up weekend for everyone, eh?
i loved reading about your tradition... i totally love this idea of togetherness and picking out what you really want. We sort of have this with our Christmas lists, but shopping together sounds like a lotta fun too... hmmmmm... we just might copy this next year!

Ali, love that you can actually catch up. Got your email but I forgot to ask you what printer you had to print out your photos and what program you used. Needless to say, trying to print out photos for your class the night before was quite the learning curve. Trying to unpack cables and install software and figure out where those downloaded photos were on my computer. Dear me. And I still haven't finished those albums. I may have to redo because I think I misplaced my notes. :) OK. Better go now. Thanks again for your inspiration. I am getting better at letting go and going with the flow. Well at least some days I am. ;)

Ali.....okay, I used to go to that Army Surplus store ALL THE TIME! That was THE place to shop if you were remotely new wave and lived in the city! Too cool! Used to take the bus down from Capitol Hill.
Loved reading that journaling.

Glad to see I wasn't the only one who scrapped with the cool "it only happens once a year" cardboard piece from Starbucks. I actually saved a few of them and used on cards too. Love it. Awesome when creative minds thinks alike.
Happy Holidays to you and yours!

Your art journals are all so, so, so wonderful, I love to look at them, I agree with everyone who used the word "inspirational" to describe you!

Ah, the memories of our Seattle shopping adventures -- they will live on forever.
I loved reading this, Ali! I love remembering the McDougall family Christmas traditions.
I hope to see you make a page about ornaments and taking turns hanging them on the tree
maybe you could use some of the pages from those little brown binders that mom had written down our ornaments in, who they were from, etc. (the original ones that she did that in.)
Thanks for sharing the Christmas spirit Ali!
Love
Jessica
