A late-night hello from Detroit.

Just wanted to say a late-night hello from Detriot, Michigan - home of The Scrapbook Zone. Had the best day today cruising the Henry Ford museum with Kelley, Stacy and Sue, eating burgers for lunch at a place called Miller's (one of those totally awesome bar's with no menu - it is either cheese or no-cheese, medium or well, fries or onion rings), and cropping (YES, I CROPPED - working on my class project for CKU-Japan) with an amazingly great group of women tonight at The Zone.

Totally looking forward to a day full of classes tomorrow. It was so cool to see faces I recognized tonight - and meet lots of new people - before classes in the morning. It makes for such a great dynamic when some of that newness is taken away the night before.

And this store, man, I could go on and on. It is by far the largest store I have been too. Amazing selection. And a crop room that fits 64 people (with a pop machine and a popcorn maker). Seriously.

Ok, gotta get some sleep.

Woohoo!!! Oh gosh I miss Miller Burgers so much. I'm from Dearborn, MI (where Miller's is located - my dad retired in Feb. after 30 years as a Dearborn Fire Fighter) but moved to Chicago 3 years ago when I graduated University... there is nothing like a Miller's burger around here. I keep trying to take my boyfriend but he isn't willing to wait in the hour long line when we go home. I love how you just walk up to the counter and tell them what you ate. This may sound gross but do you know that their secret is that they don't clean the grill? hehhe... oh gosh I miss 'em!

So wish I could have breathed some Ali E "essense" while you were hanging out in Michy this weekend! *sighs*
I wish you could come back sometime in the fall and come up north to see the wonderful apple and cherry farms and take Simon to Mackinaw Island. He would love the horses and the boat ride!
And if there is a scrapbooking "God" out there someone will have you teach classes in Mid-Michigan where I live so I can attend, and if you ever do...Email me and we can take Simon and Cameron (My little boy) to the Midland to SprayGardens and to A.B. Dow Museum Hall of Ideas. They have amazing sensory exhibits and hands-on activities that are so ecuational and thought provoking for kids. Then an awesome cup of black coffee and cookies for the kids at Bistro 101.
Maybe someday Ali, eh! Would be great to meet you and Simon :)
    Have fun tomorrow!

    Ali-
Just wanted to let you know..my birthday theme this year was ALI! I was your book stalker when you were at Scraptacular last year in Cleveland. Today I woke up to a hat, shirt, pre-ordered book, and font CD.
Thanks for sharing my special day with me! HA! To bad he couldn't just arrange a personal visit from you. You are only a few hours away being in Detriot and all.
Hope to see you again this summer for a new autograph!
    Cheers!

Thank you Ali for everything. I can't begin to tell you how much meeting you and seeing you in action meant to me. I love that you get the whole business side of what it is Kevin and I do. I love that we have sweet boys so close in age-who we both love more than life itself. I look forward to seeing you again soon (CHA Summer baby). Wishing you a safe trip and a relaxed Sunday afternoon. Cheers from Detroit Rock City and The Scrapbook Zone Team thinks you ROCK!
