Christmas Art Journal.
Feeling a bit better today - thanks for all the kind thoughts.
One of my favorite parts about the holidays last year was participating in Shimelle's Christmas Art Journal Class. Even though I didn't finish it last year, I love how it connected me daily to the holiday season in an artful and reflective way. I love that it gave me something to focus on and pushed me to try new things.
Here is one sample page I completed last year:
The rest of my pages from last year are located in my Art Journal folder to the right.
I highly recommend this experience. No pressure. Just good prompts and lots of sharing with others on the same journey. Not sure yet if I am going to have a chance to participate this year - December is shaping up to be pretty busy for us with a couple weekend workshops, a vacation, and hopefully a move into a new house. If my new house gets decorated I will consider that a huge accomplishment.
AND...if you leave a comment on here between now and 5pm Pacific today (my time) you will be entered into a drawing to take the class for free. Shimelle gave me two spots to give away - so make sure to leave your name in the comments. I will draw two names later tonight or tomorrow.
I guess my chances of winning are pretty low, but I would love to participate in Shimelle's class.

I am glad that you are feeling better Ali. I started getting into the holiday spirit today too. I made a Christmas wreath for our front door and bought some new ornaments for our Copper, gold and brown tree this year. I choose those colors to match all our left over Wedding Favors that were acorns with gold glitter. Now I am waiting for christmas trees to go on sale. Thanks for the chance at your drawing.

The phrase "keeping it simple..." jumped out at me from your page. KIS - isn't that the truth?!? Later tonite we have to go to the airport to pick up my stepdaughter - then back home to begin decorating for the holidays. As is the case with many blended families we will not have the kids for Xmas this year and will instead celebrate "Merry Thanksmas" (or "Merry Christgiving, depending on your preference.) So...Keeping it Simple has become by new mantra.
