If you got the newest issue of the AEzine in your inbox you may have read that over the last couple weeks I have had over 1500 photos printed. The stack you see above is just from Disney World. And I have a plan for them...just starting to tackle the album today.

Almost all the photos I ordered were 4x6 inch - a few larger ones were thrown in for good measure. From the 4x6 inch photos I will do a lot of cropping. Some were printed at Costco and I am waiting on two big orders from Scrapbookpictures.com. It took over four hours to upload my order of 500+ prints on Monday. I just set it up and let it run its course.

Yesterday I took a morning inspiration break and headed to my favorite local antique/cool stuff store in Springfield called Ruthie B's. I could spend days in there just looking at all the stuff - if you live locally you have to take a morning or afternoon and go - they also serve tea and lunch. Brought home a couple wire baskets and a bunch of good ideas for my book. Love that kind of experience inspiration - Julia Cameroncalls it an artist date and that is just what it was - a recharge of my creative spirit.

Thanks to everyone who responded to my call for Life Art comments and questions. I so appreciate you taking the time to do that - the book will be richer because of your participation.

Back to work.

You weren't kidding when you said you got a whole bunch printed! WOW! I SO need to get a bunch uploaded to Costco. I want to do more paper scrapping and digi/paper hybrid scrapping this year and I promised myself I would print a ton of pictures out (as a step to completing this goal and also for the second round of Stacy's Library of Memories class).
What a cool ARtist DaTe find. I had a hard time doing my weekly artist dates (in the purist sense) when I was going through Cameron's book because I tend to always have my young kids with me... but I do try to make every outing a little bit of fun even if it means stopping by the scrapbooking isle at Target if I'm there just to get diapers! LOL! Sometimes you have to make the mundane exciting, right?! And every little bit of adventure and inspiration helps!
Good luck on your projects. Can't wait to se the book promo because I love the Life Art principles.

I can't wait to see what you do with all those disney photos. I always have a hard time scrapping all of my vacation photos. And usually all of them have a story to tell about our experience so I don't want to leave any out!

I can't wait to see what you do with your Disney pictures! We were in WDW at the same time (the 9th through the 14th) and I have some beautiful shots of the holiday decorations... and of course my 2 boys. I have an 8x8 album all set but I'm not sure how I'll go about it yet and need some inspiration!

Can't wait to see what you do with that stack of photos from your Disney trip. You really must share. I'm still working on my Disney Album -- shot 1100+ photos in less than a week. Kind of at a standstill and awaiting your inspiration!

I cannot believe that stack of photos! You're ready to go, girl! Ever since I improved my photography I found that I love to shoot really close up and I forget to move back. That leaves me with little to no cropping room and I have to print in lots of sizes. I need to remember to shoot at different distances!
I am super curious to know what exactly was your inspiration in the antique shop.

I just got a stack of about 500 photos back - that was from 10 days in Maui, my 12 year old daughter got a camera for christmas so she added to the pile as well. Have to share my album idea that i did for our maui trip. I pre-planned the album - quite simple, i used an 8x8 album and cut up all my "hawaiian" paper and cardstock, did some stamping etc. Then i pre-cut 6x6 journalling blocks with painted edges and stamped images and took these with me on the trip along with a bunch of coloured pens. Each night (that was the plan - ha ha - so every several days) i would write down what we had done that day with some of my feelings etc, and then my 12 and 10 year olds and husband added their impressions of the day as well. So when i came home glued the journalling blocks on the left page, and created a photo block 6x6 on the right page added some more writing around the photo block, some word stickers and a few embellishments and voila done. We came home Thursday got the photos printed on Friday, sat down Saturday and before bedtime everyone was flipping through the Hawaii album! Simplest album i have ever done. I love that although it is not perfect i know that in years from now it will be so neat to see everyone's impressions of the vacation in their own handwriting spelling mistakes and all. The last page, i made everyone record their 3 favourite activites, 3 fav meals, and 3 favourite things. I would definitely do this again. It was kind of a take off on Ali's travel journal idea. My 12 year old daughter is scraplifting Ali's postcard album can't remember exactly which CK article it was in, but she bought the cute vintage postcards and is making a little album from that. So that is a cool idea too. Hope that helps for you disney people. Sorry for the long winded comment!

Hey Ali--are you a "matte" or "glossy" prints kindof gal? Trying to decide what I like--used to be a matte girl, but since I got a photo printer, I like the glossy. However, my printer just died (and I may die right along with it)--and I'm about to order in the next few days. Just wondering what you like? thanks!

Ahhh. Love your blog. I just have an interview for a job I really, really, really want and it is nerve racking so to chill out, I'm reading up on the blog.
Can't believe all those pics in that nice, neat pile. This is an interesting topic because I have about 10-12 rolls of pictures from a trip I took in 1999 to el salvador and I have no idea how to start the album. One page layouts are no biggie but the album is much harder. Maybe that would be a good topic for your e newsletter? Hope you are doing well. Looking forward to your newest book. The "Patterned Paper" has been VERY inspiring to me as of late.

    OK, I'm cracking up...
After a (very) long scrapbooking slump, I am on a major creating high. I was in the process of a 2-day old photo sort and getting heaps of pics printed for a gazillion layouts I have in my head (I also normally print my own). While uploading my last order late last night I found your newsletter in my inbox discussing that exact thing. I had also just posted about my temporary photo chaos on my blog including a picture of a healthy stack of old photos. Then this morning what do I see on your blog! Too funny!
    Happy creating!

What i noticed in the photo behind that taunting stack of pictures was the mix of technologies (old and new). I think of a sewing machine as old technology (even though I got a new one for Christmas) and that corner of the blackberry and the mouse being new technology. One of the things I love about scrapbooking is you can use all kinds of technology (new and old). Awesome photo is so many ways. Gotta love Costco's photo center!
    thanks for your continued inspiration.

Your wire baskets are very cool. I love antique/junque stores. That's where I found the old printers tray that I put my rubber stamps in.
