And an addition to the links...
in this week's AEzine. Make sure to check out Visual Chronicles: The No Fear Guide to Creating Art Journals, Creative Manifestos and Altered Books. This is a super inspiring, great read that breaks down the process of fear and worry that so many people face when it comes to creativity. And be sure to check out the blog here.
It looks cool, I'll have to check it out!

This is so funny, I actually checked this out at the library two weeks ago and renewed it today! It is SO good that I really want it for my personal bookshelf!

Ali, I checked out Lain's website you mentioned on your blog, and guess what? I won a copy of Visual Chronicles because, being the "blog reader" that I am, I knew about Beth Proudfoots mouth and Cathy Z's ice skating days etc. So I guess I should thank you also! Can't wait to get it! Cindy

I've had that book for over a year now and I cant recommend it highly enough.
And my manifesto is on the header of my blog - "She makes her art about life and her life about art".

Who knew? Apparently I've had a personal manifesto for years and years. It in fact started in High School but became more fully developed about 5 yrs after I was married when my dear Frog was diagnosed with MS.I even have my blog titled with my manifesto www.llttfandjb@blogspot.com. Who knew my little personal power words were so very defining of who I am, and what I am now becoming? Love, Laugh, Tickles, Teases, Frogs and Jelly Beans

Thank you for all the information. Hopefully, this weekend I'll find time to browse those sites.
Thanks, also, for AEzine. I love it and look forward to it each week. Always an inspiration. In fact I used it as a suggestion in an Inspiration Swap.

I love Linda Woods...I had the pleasure of meeting her at CHA recently and I just adore her! Their book is phenomenal and I just can't wait for their new one coming up in a few months! I was originally drawn to their blog several months ago when you first linked them to your blog a while back. Ever since then I've been a regular visitor of their blog too. Those girls have it right! I love their art and the way they inspire others!

I like your motto ;-) As an English teacher, that'd drive me crazy, but it's nothing you could control...so embrace it!!

I worked my personal word for 2007, RISK, into my creative manifesto
Live Without Barriers, Create Without Barriers
now I just need to create something to document it and hang it in my studio
Thanks Ali for a wonderful challenge, Linda

I went to amazon and looked at the book and decided to treat myself! I realized that I haven't bought a book in a while and that I deserve not only one but two (I also bought Keri Smith's Living Out Loud). They should be here in a couple weeks and I can't wait. Thanks!

I don't know about 'fear' in creative crafts, more 'fear' in everything - but I'll check it out, thanks for the tip.
Cheers

Ali,
this could be a great topic for an AEzine = how to create art journals... I actually have this book, but I haven't ventured into the world of art journals yet--seems too difficult??

My personal manifesto:
1. Create Anything
2. Find the Flow
3. Meditate, Meditate, Meditate
It's so funny that you mentioned that book. I've searched in the past for examples of art journals and came up short. I even looked for classes. Now that I just jumped in and did it, they are popping up everywhere. Funny how the world works. It's brought me to the world of collage and I'm working on developing a class for it. You may have given me the source I needed. Don't ever doubt your value to the world Ali.
