Overheard.
Overheard while putting on his airplane jammies with the long tight sleeves that are kinda tough to pull-on: "I can do it cause I'm a boy."
That was followed up with: "I can do it cause I'm a jedi."
Heartfelt thanks for the overwhelming amount
of wonderful comments this past weekend. We are so excited about this next
chapter in our lives.
That just put the biggest smile on my face.....Simon is one amazing human being.

Now that is a layout just waiting to be made! Too funny!
I spent the afternoon yesterday at a family party with my two autistic nephews. The older boy, Padraic, has made terrific strides in being eager to converse with others, and spent the afternoon alternately trying to teach me CSS code (I learned a lot!) and trying to get me to play a "simple" duet with him on the piano (he can do Beethoven from memory; I took 5 years of lessons and can barely eek out a tune.)
My younger nephew, Connor, has also come a long way this year, but still needs a lot of help with coping strategies for when things don't go as expected. He was having a problem eating a food he doesn't like much, and started to gag. Before his mom could remind him that he would be alright if he just kept calm, I heard him say to himself, "I'm alright. I'm alright." Almost made me cry, because it's such a huge deal for Connor to be able to do this!

I recently had an "overheard" moment. I took my neice to the pool and I overheard her say to one of the other kidlets:
"that's my Auntie Jocelyn. She's a genius!"

Oh my gosh! I got goose bumps reading your 3+1=4 post! I wish I knew you personally (although I feel as if I do) so I can give you a big hug! Congratulations to you, Chris and Simon!! We have a large gap between our kids (4 3/4 years) and it's great. What a blessing!
Love Simon's comment about being a boy and then about being a Jedi. Whenever I see Star Wars stuff I think of him. :-)

isn't it wonderful to step back and see their independence blossom, also so hard to sit back and watch and not interfere.. Alec and Riley live and breathe star wars, I was greeted this morning with information about jabba's palace even before I got a hi mum!
