December Daily : Catching Up Days 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22
Feeling a bit better today and had a chance to do some big-time catching up today and last night.
Day 16 : wrapping day with a long photo of the tree on the other side. I used my Holiday Word Art on the top of the tree and my 31 Days Circle Numbers on the package page.
The journaling card is on the back of the package photo. Stamps are See and Stamp Jumbo Uppercase Alphabet Stamps
from Educational Insights and word art Technique Tuesday.
Here's the before image. I removed this page completely in order to use the photo of the wrapped package:
[ Paper Source Pocket Envelope; Scenic Route Berkley Red Letter Stickers; Tree: Art Warehouse Noel Epoxy Sticker ]
I decided to combine Days 17 and 18 as that was our trip to Hood River for the Polar Express. I used the same journaling as you saw on this post. This one covers a few pages to fit the photos and words (and I removed the original 17 and 18 pages).
Letter stickers are MOMA from American Crafts. Patterned paper is The Weather Outside from American Crafts.
Added in my ticket. Simon's is still on his bedside table. I will probably grab it and add it in after Christmas.
I also added in the song sheet from the train ride.
Day 19 : documenting more snow.
I added the Making Memories White Snowflakes (they come with the brads) - two on the front side and one on the back with the photo. You can see a close-up on one of the snowflakes below.
Day 20 : you can see the front above (I removed the previous Jenni Bowlin bingo card and added in one of her holiday versions). The back is missing it's photo because I ran out of black ink (it's a black + white photo). Planning to add that in later today.
Day 21 : another "around the house" series similar to Day Five.
Cork star is from www.awesomealbums.com.
Day 22 : grocery shopping and hanging out around the house.
Cardstock strip sticker is from Art Warehouse.
Added the grocery list to the back.
I really worked on keeping these pretty simple with the emphasis on just the photos and the words. This works especially well when I am feeling under the weather and not super creative. I like relying on the photos and the words to do the work.
Only a couple more days to go :).
Doing some cooking today. Chex mix this morning and thinking about now going and baking the pear crandberry pie for Thursday's dessert. For dinner this year we are going to try Tyler Florence's Ultimate Crown Pork Roast (along with the other recipes he featured on this episode). I have been watching a little too much Food Network over the last couple of days of not feeling great.
Hope you are having fun preparing for your upcoming celebrations and thanks for your patience on posting these December Daily pages.
Can I share a secret? Tyler Florence's Ultimate Mashed Potatoes might be the best food I have ever tasted. Granted, the potatoes are boiled in milk and cream, so how could they be bad, right?
We're food network addicts too. We're doing Rachel Ray's beef tenderloin for Christmas dinner. With Tylers Mashed Potatoes of course :)

love the embellishments you've used on these pages. am heading out now to flag them in my various scrapbook wishlists!
love the pages as well. as someone who is a big fan of photo album scrapbooking, i love that the simple (words plus photo simplicity) tells the story better sometimes than all the "drama" of a full-blown page!

Oh Ali...don't post this. I just wanted to send you a note about a typo in your day 17 and 18 journaling. One of those computer gliches repeated your first line (I only know this because I read EVERYTHING you do...)The book is to beautiful to have it be anything but perfect...but then again, it shows it's homemade I guess. Just wanted to let you know. Feel better!

I had seen on your website where you had started a photo a day project. I am going to attempt this for 2009 but now I can't find where it is on your site. Can you help direct me?
Love the December Daily. Maybe next year for me.

Hi Ali!
Loving your December Daily pages!! I have a question about the day 19 page. Who makes the red and white polka dotted paper? (been trying to find a small dotted paper like that!) as well as the "Merry and Bright" addition to it? Is that a cut-out of some sort?
I also loved hearing about your Polar Express train ride---that's so cool! We just watched the movie last night, and I never tire of it!
Happy Holiday and Merry Christmas!

Ali, your pages are wonderful. I feel so inspired to collect memories and make something of them.... I'm good at just keeping things in boxes... but I do think it would be nice to find a way to display them. I hope you are feeling better by the minute and staying warm and cozy with your family.

Glad to read that you are feeling better Ali. Wow! You have been productive. Love the pages. I am secretly happy (not sure that's the right word) to see that you can get behind and do several pages in one day. Makes me feel much better about my own very slow progress. Hope you have a great Christmas with Chris and Simon.

Girl, you continue to amaze...I've been feeling punk the last few days and was not up to this. How do you do it?

Would love some thoughts in the new year how you find the ability to create so frequently. It's pretty amazing. I get in so many creative funks. Really liking the album. Have a great holiday.

Hi again... if you have a moment... can you tell me:
where is the rectangular, white card with the rounded corners that has the circle date and the journaling from? I've seen it on a few of your pages in the December daily. Thanks.
