Watching. Waiting. Saying hello.
A very nice day yesterday. A molasses cookie and hot drinks at Starbucks. Picked up a couple things from Toys R Us and delivered them to the giving tree at the mall where Simon was able to check in on Santa a couple times as we walked by. Found something for Chris’ sister. Lunch at Fifth Street Market. Home again. Simon watched Ratatouille. Chris read and took a nap. I did a bit of work.
Now it’s time for a puzzle while the chicken roasts in the oven.
I love Sunday.
[ Notes From Today Stamp from Catslife Press ]
A simple stamp to tell a bit of the story. I printed the photo to 5.5 inches x 9 inches and used the Heidi Swapp White Moments Clock Overlay as a guide to trim the photo to the same shape. The transparency turns on its own and is not attached to the photo.
And the before image:

This is probably my favorite picture yet!! Love Simon looking at Santa and keeping an eye on him. Can’t believe you are so caught up. Two kids home from College now so probably will finish in January!
Love that clock — adds an interesting accent to your story.
Do you carry your Rebel with you (on your neck) everywhere – like the mall, Starbucks, etc.? Do you have a case you’d recommend for doing that?
And, I’m loving your dailies again this year. Thanks for being so inspiring!
What a sweet little moment. Thanks for inspiring, Ali.
I love this project, and I love engaging in both the capturing and creating daily, but mostly, I am so happy with the book itself as a whole … and how it will be received next year and in the years following as my children grow.
INSPIRING…that picture of Simon evaluating the situation with Santa…Unbelieveable…maybe BELIEVE would fit better!
Thank you Ali for sharing your world of ideas with us.
this has to be my favorite picture in the whole book.
Hi Ali — I really enjoy watching your blog … particularly during the December Daily creation! I like the way this album comes together — the eclectic look really appeals to me! Unfortunately, when I attempt the “look”, it just ends up looking ….. sloppy!
Thanks for the inspiration!
I so love your blog! Every morning I get my coffee and I sit and read the blogs that inspire me the most and yours is certainly up there on that list!! Thank you so much. After the Week in the Life project I was super excited about the Days of December – unfortunately I got the flu the day after Thanksgiving and I’m just now feeling better so I was thinking instead I would do a moments of Christmas album (since I had collected the materials) this way I would still have a book that included all of our holiday favorites and traditions and some of the special moments that took place this year. Thank you for the inspiration.
I am loving watching your album grow, it is so beautiful!

I love adding the pictures to the albums it just brings them to life.
What a perfect picture to go with the overlay for that day. I am loving this daily dose of inspiration!!
what a perfect day and another great entry in your album. you are so inspirational. thank you for sharing so much of yourself.
I was wondering if you have any tips for painting or stamping on transparencies? I use the 3M transparencies for inkjet printers.
Thanks for all your information and inspiration!
This photo of Simon is so precious. It perfectly captures my feelings this Christmas as an adult: it feels like watching children discover the joys of the season. Beautiful image, beautiful boy.
Arlene – I don’t take my camera with me everywhere. I mainly go through phases where I do take it with me a bunch and then not at all. In this case I knew we were going to be out and about shopping and such and I wanted to get some photo documentation of our adventures. I usually just carry it on my shoulder or in a bag if I happen to be carrying one (but never in a separate camera bag).
This is so sweet. You guys had a really good Santa! Love how you work things out on your pages.
Thank you, Ali, for sharing your life and your wonderful ideas with us! I’m still working on the basic book, but taking pictures and keeping track of each day’s experiences on a separate sheet of paper! I keep thinking that I’m closing in on it, but then another idea pops into my head. Of course, there are those cookies to be baked, cards to write, presents to wrap…
Simon got his wish! Hope he’s having fun in the snow today!
Sounds like a great way to spend a Sunday!
Love this one Ali – now here is a silly question for you (since I am still getting familiar with photoshop) When you use your word png word files (I have bought some of yours from Designer digitals) – how do you change the color to say be white – instead of the standard black. I just haven’t had time to play yet with this one and want to add your favorite holiday memory to a photo and then order.
Thanks so much
Nicky from Canada
(thoroughly enjoying this project but about a week behind – just due to picking up ordered pictures – but still enjoying)
Probably my favorite picture of yours ever! Great capture.

Sounds like the perfect Sunday to me. Love that photo of Simon watching Santa! Cheers!

Just curious…are you a crossword puzzler? If so, check out the movie Wordplay. It’s a great documentary!
Your Dec. Daily is very inspiring. Thanks for allowing us a peek.

I just love your album Ali. It is beyond amazing. This is my fav one ever. I look through your posts since you started the daily for hours. Never stop sharing. =)
I notice you journal a lot with a white pen. Can you tell me your favorite to write directly on top of photos?
Dana – the white pen I use is a Sharpie Poster Paint pen
.
I am totally in awe how you can create the base of an album for a month. Then come in and just add the perfect pics & journaling to fit the pages. It’s not like they are all the same. Each is wonderfully different. You are incredible. I do love watching your creativity. Thanks for sharing!!!
lovvving your album
That photo is just so adorable and such a great perspective!

For me, this photo is really striking and sentimental at the same time. The expectation, so delicious when we are a child, is summarized in this magnificent photo. I love this time of the year…with the magical feelings that float in the air! I love this picture!
Oh…the hours I spent at Fifth Street Market as a kid! I didn’t know it was still around. It smelled like Patchouli in the 80′s:)
Great post!
