I Scrapbook
To celebrate relationships.
And everyday moments.
To remember minutes that pass by in an instant.
And what it was like when it was just three of us.
To capture stuff like this.
And this.
And this.
And this.
And this.
To tell my story.
And his.
And his.
And hers.
And ours.
To pay closer attention to everyday life.
To create and play and experiment.
To embrace life.
[ The above was adapted from my Keynote presentation at CKU's in 2008 ]

Ali,
Your list in today's post is an inspiration, a motivator, a reminder of WHY I scrapbook. It's not about WHAT it looks like, WHAT products you use, but about people, love, connections and life.
One of my favorite little poems hearkens back to the "soul" of scrapbooking:
If of thy mortal goods thou are bereft
And from thy slender store two loaves alone are left,
Sell one, and with the dole
By hyacinths to feed the soul.
Scrapbooking feeds my soul. And that of others, I hope.
Okay, so I use this to justify spending grocery money on scrap supplies! LOL!
I also buy the hyacinths.
LOVE the pics of Simon and Anna. LOVE. Have a great family weekend!

Ali -
This is so beautiful, it brought tears to my eyes. Those are all of the reasons that I want to scrapbook as well. I need to start making the time. I have a beautiful and amazing daughter and a baby on the way. Those memories and mine before are so important to share.
Thank you for such a beautiful blog. I have been following it since just before Anna's birth when Aby Garvy's blog pointed me here for your "One Word" post.
May you have many more happy and beautiful memories and moments to scrapbook.
Thanks for sharing ...
Melissa
