December Daily 2009 : Day 16
DAY SIXTEEN
Can anyone else believe how fast this holiday season is moving along? Simon and I were laying on his bed the other night, looking at his tree lights and talking about how there are only 8 more days until Santa comes...and only two more days of school. Man I remember how exciting that was as a kid. Nothing better.
The last couple of nights we have been reading some of the short stories from this book: Jan Brett's Christmas Treasury. It is such a fantastic book with amazing illustrations. I ordered it in 2007 after reading a recommendation from Amanda at Soule Mama. She has a great, timeless list of winter reading favorites here. Having these books that only come out once a year (along with the holiday movies) makes them that much more special.
Here's a look at Day 16:
The transparent clock (old Heidi Swapp product - not sure it is available anymore) page is one that I have done for the last three years. This is a good example of one of those products that I do stock-up on - when I have the desire to use it more than once and it is generic enough, I will buy a few to be able to use them in the future. I think this is the last one I have in my stash. I love the contrast of the curve with the rest of the straight edge pages. This year I took a shot of Simon's room and am using that for my story on Day 16.
On the back of the clock I included an image of the Playmobil Nativity Set
that is sitting on his bookshelf:
Here's a close-up look at the image which includes a couple digital products from Designer Digitals: AE Handdrawn Holiday, Katie's Word Strip Labels No.2 (coming soon), and Holiday Twill (coming this weekend to the shop).
On the image of Simon's room I added the word stack from my Handdrawn Holiday collection.
Look for some fun new giveaways to be posted tomorrow morning. Have a wonderful weekend!

Seriously love your album...this is my first year to do one and I am having so much fun...I'm amazed at how many people participate and share thier ideas on their blogs and message boards-- you are making the world a much more creative place and helping so many people document their daily lives, Ali! Thanks so much!

What pen do you use to write on your photos? Are you still using a white Sharpie? Thanks Ali.
Happy Holidays!

Hi Ali - love and trying to replicate the word stack you used on day 16 but am finding it impossible to find on designer digitals. When I click on the link from your website it takes me to what appears to be a different set of words. The set you used is at the bottom and it makes it look like it's part of a set of 3. But when I downloaded the file it didn't contain the work stack and unfortunately was the same as one I had downloaded previously :o{ . Can you help me find the file with the word stack in it?! Thanks so much.

Hi Laura - it is part of the Handdrawn Holiday set. It is called "AEdwards_HolidayWordStack.png. Let me know if that is not included in your package (it should be :)).

My bad. I had opened up Holiday Hand-Drawn Brushes in error (several times if you can believe it). LOVE the new set. And thank you for getting back to me!
