Below, the words. If I accidentally missed yours please add a comment below and I will add it to the list (I am updating throughout the day). These words are beautiful and powerful and subtle and really can make a difference in your life. Cheers to 2010.

One of the big things I noticed as I read back through all the words
yesterday is that most people want to make some sort of change in their
lives such as a subtraction or an addition. You might be interested in checking out Leo Batuba's (Zen Habits) new blog about habits
called 6 Changes.

What a wonderful and powerful image! My word for 2010 is lighter. Lighter physically and lighter in attitude and thoughts. That is how I want to be.

Decrease is my word for 2010. There are many things that I want to decrease this year and at the top of the list is decreasing the time between promptings and doings.

So AMAZING to see all the words together! Sorry I didn’t put my word on your blog, but blogged about it on mine… (and gave you credit :) My word for this year is
    OTHERS.

    A,
this is just a short note to say that it KILLS me how creative and inspiring you are! I just had to say it, eventhough I’m sure you hear it all the time! You just seem like you have it so together, and everything you make is gorgeous! I strive to be creative everyday, and I encourage my 6 yr old son to create everday also. We have a ‘SCRAFT’ room (his word) and we spend most of our time together in there. He has total freedom, and I mean paint, glitter, glue…anything that won’t hurt him, because I want him to feel the freedom of expressing yourself. It is my dream to be able to do this full time, and maybe….just maybe someday it will happen. Me and my sister are both nurses, but we have a secret dream to open a little craft shop some day. We live in a small town in Arkansas, with nothing of the sort anywhere close.
My son, Nathan, makes the cutest things, and he loves to share the things he makes with others. We have a budget and have to be creative and buy many of our supplies at walmart, but that’s ok with us! I love going to craft stores, but always end up spending way too much, then feeling guilty bc I know it’s money I could be spending on my lil guy. My husband supports my hobby (passion), but does not really understand it.
The point of this letter is to say Thank You, for inspring, and making me believe that I can do it, too. I love your style, I love your cute lil family, and love you too for being someone to look up to. I will enjoy your work as long as you continue to share! You’re amazing!! Thanks again!

    Very cool and inspiring!
My word is RECORD. I have really fallen away this year in getting everything recorded in terms of scrapbooking. So my plan is to get back on track with documenting the everyday and also memories. It is an important year with a new addition and so many things happening with our family.

My word is “release.” To release and let go all the things which no longer serves me. To purge negative thoughts, feelings, and emotions. I’m a young cancer survivor. I don’t want to live in fear and need to release fear, anger and uncertainty surrounding my diagnosis. To remind myself daily that I am in the right place at the right time, doing the right thing. Fully knowing that all is well in my world.

Forgot to add mine the other day — my word is SPRIRT. I am involved with a retreat team at my church and it just sort of came to me — but I was also thinking of ways to care for and feed my spirit, the spirit of others as well as the spirit of my actions.

Found my word…Balance. Being a single mom of two amazing boys, working full-time, keeping up with friendships and finding the “ME” time…I am determined to find the Balance in my life to fit this all in.
I love Wordle. With money being super tight, I used the website to make some amazing Christmas gifts for my 10 nieces and nephews. With the help of my boys, we came up with lists describing each cousin (got a little input from the cousin’s respective parents as well). I typed the lists into the website, saved the images as pdfs. I then pulled the pdf apart to make 3 separate layers. making sure I didn’t repeat any words between layers Printed the top two layers on transparencies and the bottom one on paper. Stacked the layers in a frame with foam spacers separating them. It created a really cool 3D art piece that each child (ages 10-15) loved.
    Thank you for inspiring me.

I posted last week that my word for 2010 would be change. But the more I thought about it, I think a better word for me will be ‘Transition’. That isn’t on your list but transform and transformation are. They are similiar but not exactly the same. Transition seems to have a more positive appeal than change does. I looked up the definition of transition and it fits perfectly for me for 2010.

My word is LISTEN: I need to listen to my husband when we are just talking. With almost 40 years of marriage I think I need to just listen to him. Not to obey what he is saying just listen when we are just talking. My Mom has lived with us for 5 years and at times it is very hard to be a wife, daughter, mother. I love being a grandmother.
By reading your blog I am learning to write my thoughts down and what to get busy getting scrapebooks done for my 4 grandchildren.
Best to you and your family in 2010.

My word is TONE……Tone is something I am constantly working on. The tone of my voice when I feel impatient inside….the tone of my voice when I am upset……Also, I want to work harder on the tone of my body. Giving time to the importance of taking care of my health and well being (as well as looking better:). My word is TONE!!

I love the word art Ali. What an inspiring list in itself! Have already embarked on making some small changes in my life and am loving the difference in my thoughts and ideas already. As Gandhi said “You need to be the change you want to see in the world”. It really is true. In order to change what I see around me, I need to change myself…Love it! Will pop over to that website and have a stickie too. Thanks Ali.

Hi Ali! Me again….I have a question I’ve been wanting to ask you so I figured here was the best place…Many times you link to items (i.e. the two books about story) on amazon.com. If I use those links to then purchase the items do you benefit from that purchase in any way? I ask because sometimes I do not have a preference where my purchases are made – amazon.com or bn.com – and if I can make purchases that contribute to your “empire” I’m more than happy to do so. (Also hoping you do not find this question offensive) Thanks Ali!
