Welcome To The New www.aliedwards.com

It's finally here.

I'm beyond excited to introduce you to the new www.aliedwards.com.

On and off for the last year I've been working with Rubber Design and Studio Aluminum to create this new online home. (Rubber Design is the firm behind that great tooth fairy bag I've posted about previously.) They've both been great partners in this process.

One of the biggest changes you'll find is that there are now two blogs. The first, AE Blog, is where you'll find stories about daily living, inspirational links, thoughts on scrapbooking & creativity, workshop & event updates, giveaways, etc. The second blog, AE Projects, is where you’ll find completed scrapbook layouts, memory projects, step-by-step written and/or video tutorials, product updates, etc. Use the drop-down Archives by Category over on the left to view posts by a specific category.

An almost-complete portfolio of many of my layouts and projects can be found under the About Ali tab along the top navigation by clicking on Portfolio. There's a new Shop link along the top that will take you to my products at Designer Digitals, Technique Tuesday, and Big Picture Scrapbooking. Eventually when I get those PDF's of my books done you'll be able to purchase them there.

There's definitely still some adjustments going on behind the scenes. There are links within the site on older posts that are in the process of being updated and forwarded to the right location.

I'm giving myself some room to grow and expand. Thanks for continuing to read, to support, and be a part of this journey.

Here's to a new chapter online!

Ali, I love your new website. I agree with some of people that the text is too light for us to read. Maybe you can change to little darker or make size larger make it easier for us to read better. I already signed for RSS but I always love your website because it is so nice and colorful. Thank you for all your hard work.

Ali, what a lot of work! I have to echo some of the comments, tho, re: gray type, "read more…" links, blinkies. Just not a fan of some of the newer design requiring the reader to click a link to continue reading. I know that's the trend & I understand it's so you can include more on the initial page. I'll just have to get used to it. At least your design is very easy to navigate. I anticipate the continuation of great content, tho, & inspiration you always provide.

One more comment re: blog format. Could you put the "Older Post…" link at the end of the actual blog post rather than after all the comments?

Thanks for the feedback Kay - I'm checking into that option. Makes sense to me.

On this human journey we instinctively resist change. Yet, the journey doesn't reach it's potential unless we do change. Congrats for the new site and all the good life affirming change going on in your life - and for letting us tag along!

You can scroll on this page: http://aliedwards.com/blog and then click "continue reading" to read more. At the bottom of each post is a "Newer Post" and "Older Post" link that will take you to either one.

I was looking for the link to your shadowbox kit and can't find it. Is it no longer available?

Hi Sandy. Here's the link to the recent memory tray: http://aliedwards.com/2010/05/two-projects-family-memory-tray-kit-for-cocoa-daisy-rejoice-photobook and here's the link to the older one: http://aliedwards.com/2008/05/weekend-creative-photo-type-case (this one needs to have the images updated). Both these projects can be found under the Projects/Decor DIY tab.

Another vote for darker text please! I exercise while reading blogs, email, etc. and even with everything enlarged to read while jogging in place, it's pretty difficult to see with the low contrast gray. Aside from that, the color scheme is terrific, but maybe just not so great for reading :). Congrats otherwise on your lovely new look!

I must add that I've been playing in your "new home", and I love it, much more organised and easy to find the subjects we want. People just need to get used to it!! Great job! A fan from Portugal!
