Protesting Perfect | The Gifts Of Imperfection Book Giveaway

Today I'm joining a protest of perfection with a giveaway of my friend Dr. Brené Brown's new book The Gifts of Imperfection: Let Go of Who You Think You're Supposed to Be and Embrace Who You Are.

I'm going to keep this simple: this book could change your life. You'll laugh, probably cry, learn a bunch about shame, resilience, kindness, letting go, compassion, mindfulness, and come out of the experience with ammunition for the fight against perfectionism.

Perfection is so over-rated. Imperfect is beautiful and real.

TO BE ENTERED into this special giveaway please fill in the blank on one of the phrases below and post it in the comment section:

  • Bye-bye perfect, hello_______.

  • I am too _______ to be perfect.

Comments will be closed at 8pm Pacific tonight (Tuesday) and the winners posted shortly after. Please be sure to check back or subscribe (click here to get posts delivered to your email box) to see if you are receiving one of the items this week. I am too in love with my family to be perfect. Time spent with them is more important than obsessing about whether theh house is 100% clean or the clutter all picked up.
I think I will be getting this book for certain. Thanks Ali!

To have the opportunity to win this book is great...it is now added to my book purchase list. It has taken me a LONG time to let go of some of the "type A" that I have a feeling this book will be a great reminder of all that i am striving for.

    Bye-bye perfect! Hello REAL!

Thank you Ali! I agree that perfect is overrated.

For example, Christmas is coming and everyone will be having lights strung on their house, but those perfectly straight lines bug me! I prefer it the way it was when we were kids. The strand of lights might sag a little here and there. There might even be a bulb out! But you could tell that somebody's dad took his time putting them up there to the best of his ability & it looked great!
