Black Friday Sponsored Giveaway | $250 Gamestop.com Gift Card

One person will receive a $250 gift card to Gamestop.com.

TodaysMama.com and GameStop.com have made it their mission to give Santa a run for his money this year. TodaysMama.com is hosting Mama’s Holiday Wish List, a huge giveaway on their site and they’ve shared their stockpile of gifts with me so I can share them with you.

The annual Mama’s Holiday Wish List contest gives people a chance to read and share heartwarming, funny and inspiring answers to the Holiday Wish List Meme for a chance win a fantastic grand prize package from GameStop.com. Entering is easy, get the details and enter the grand prize giveaway here.

Here are my personal answers to the Holiday Wish List Meme:

  • What is your holiday wish for your family? That we giggle and laugh and snuggle and get all cozy together and really feel that awesome Christmas magic. We are in the prime Christmas magic years around here.

  • What is your Christmas morning tradition? Wait for the pitter-patter of Simon's feet in the hallway. Head downstairs and get all choked up over how excited he gets that Santa has visited our house. Just thinking about adding in Anna's excitement this year is almost too much for me to handle.

  • If you could ask Santa for one, completely decadent wish for yourself, what would it be? This is my most decadent dream gift at the moment: Volvo XC90.

  • How do you make the holidays special without spending any money? Listen to Christmas music via Pandora on your computer. I think one of the greatest gifts we can give our kids (and ourselves) is just spending time hanging out around the tree - playing with toys we already have, talking about the history of our ornaments, reading holiday books from the library and our own collection, chattering about Santa, etc.

  • What games did you play with your family growing up? We played Monopoly, Clue and lots of Super Mario Brothers.

  • What holiday tradition have you carried on from your own childhood? Opening one present on Christmas Eve (we do PJ's here - when I was a kid it was one we picked out - usually something from a relative) and having an ornament box. My family was a little unique in that we often went together the day before (or a couple days before) Christmas and all shopped together - literally picking out our own gifts. We'd come home, put them all into a big wicker basket/chest in the living room, and then open up the chest on Christmas morning. We usually drove to downtown Seattle for the day which always made it even more special.

  • Where would you go for a Christmas-away-from-home trip? My parents will be in Hawaii this year and I'd love to be spending the holidays with them.

  • Check out GameStop and tell us, what are the three top items on your GameStop Wish List this year? Simon's a big Lego WII fan and I love Mario. It would be fun to add Lego Star Wars 3: The Clone Wars or Lego Batman to our collection.

I've been playing Thanksgiving Bingo with 6 of my grandchildren for the past two days. It's good for all ages and so fun to spend time with them. Of course the prizes don't hurt!

Our favourite game at the moment is a card game called sleeping queens, not only is it a fun game but thecards themselves are really cute. On the video game side of things Wii's just dance is a super fun family game.

I am not a "game person" but I do enjoy throwing my Wii sports bowling ball backwards into the crowd at the bowling alley to see the people jump and spin around. ;D

Growing up in northern Wisconsin our winters were cold, and sometimes very long! As kids we played many boardgames when the weather was -42 and even snowsuits didn't help you keep warm. We often spread out on the livingroom floor with cards or dominos. Sometimes our parents would play Aggrevation or Yatzee with us, but our usual favorites were Chinese Checkers, Scrabble, Life, and some Tinker Toys or Lincoln Logs. Mom always had Perry Como or Andy Williams spinning on my folk's record player. Our house was very cozy and leading up to Christmas we always felt like we were on another planet. Christmas was the one time of the year that we actually got "anything extra" as a poor family. It was fabulous!
I lost my mother this past year to cancer, and I would give anything to have her here humming Andy's song Sleigh Ride or smell her Christmas cookies fresh from the oven. She taught us to love the simple things and so this year (hopefully) there will be a few "games" under our tree for our boys Samuel and Sean ... have to keep the traditions alive for them to enjoy as well.

My son is a big Lego fan as well. And I really enjoy playing the Lego video games with him. Although our goals are completely different, I want to get the most coins and he want to get through the story as fast as he can, we still have a lot of fun together.

My favorite non-electronic game would have to be Scrabble - you just can't go wrong with making words. For an electronic version, I absolutely LOVE Scribblenauts for the DS. It is the most imaginative game I have ever played. My daughter and I have such a blast playing both of these together. SuperScribblenauts is on her holiday wish list, so this GC could make that a reality :)

Tried and true Monopoly would have to be our favorite - we started with the kids version (selling lemonade and setting up lemonade stands instead of houses/hotels) then on to the classic version, with paper money, and now we use the latest version with "credit cards!". Just how old am I?
    Happy holidays.
