Love These | Memory Keepers

Last week I put in an order for two Memory Keepers from Paper Coterie.

I loved the idea of them – a personalized box to store special keepsakes, papers, artwork, etc. I loved the full-photo option. I was hoping that they would be as cool as I imagined…I think they just might be cooler.

The process of choosing a design, uploading, and adjusting the elements to make it my own was simple and easy. I received great customer service via chat their online chat when I had a question about the cropping of one of my photos.

Here’s what they looked like on my screen after I put in my order. One for Anna…

And one for Simon…

And here’s what they look like in “real” life:

I removed the background pattern from the initial design and chose a plain background (I started with the Diagonal Stripe design). They have a really nice selection of fonts to choose from, including one of my favorites Avenir. I really like that you can place a title/text on the spine – great for storing them standing up.

The black linen inside:

Here’s one where you can see the sizing (love the size):

They are 9.75 inches wide x 13 inches tall x about 2 inches deep.

I chose to write the kids names and 2011-2012 with the intent of putting things in there for this upcoming school year. Not sure I really want an annual collection of boxes but it’s a good place to begin.

I could definitely imagine doing more of these. Maybe one with a collage of heritage photos to hold special family keepsakes or a collage of baby images and storing some of those baby things that haven’t yet made it into a scrapbook (or are really just too bulky to go in an album).

Super excited about these and can’t wait to start putting special things inside.

I looked around on their site and see that they are currently offering everyone $40 to spend during their ‘Begin Anywhere’ event this month by entering the code: beginanywhere. Shipping is not included. Code is valid August 1 – 31.

Very striking with those big photos … We kept one box each (not as pretty as these) for each of our children. And at the end of each year we photographed/scrapbooked some things, threw some out, and only kept a very few.

I am having issues with their site too. Every time I choose the box I want to create I get a gray box and I’ve used three different browsers and I get it with each one.

thanks for sharing. We just got back from a cruise and I’ve been trying to figure out where/how to store the stuff we picked up like pamphlets, ticket stubs, etc. and this was the perfect solution and looks like it could fit on a shelf nicely. …and for less than $10 shipped too!

Thanks for sharing Ali! The boxes look even nicer than on their website! I was planning on creating one for my daughter and son today and I was wishing that I could see one in person–but this was just as good. Very impressed with the size too, I thought they would have been smaller.

I was actually looking at those this week. My oldest will be graduating this year from 8th grade and I wanted to get one for him and put things in there as this is going to be a busy and important milestone year (he also will turn 13 in Sept) Time flies for sure. I would love to have this for him and look at it when he graduates from H.S. sigh.. :)

Thanks for showing the spines of these! I really wanted to get one or two but I didn’t want to invest in them, get them shipped all the way to New Zealand only to find out that the spine didn’t appeal to me!

I am so going to order up a few of these. What I would really love them for is to house all the things we collect on our travels. We travel a lot and I have taken to just printing a photo book. But I have a bag/box of stuff I just can’t part with. These will be perfect. And maybe even one for each of the kiddos each year. Hmmm…

Thanks so much for sharing these :)

Thanks so much! I just ordered one box for my son’s kindergarten memorabilia (he’s about to start 1st grade & his kindergarten stuff has been sitting in a folder on the floor of my office all summer) and one for the family vacation we took this summer. What a great deal with the coupon code! I can see ordering one every year for the kids’ school year.
