Saying Yes.

Saying yes to being silly and fun and light and tickling and giggling.

Saying yes to new music. My latest purchases include The Head & The Heart and Mat Kearney.

Saying yes to embracing these last few weeks of summer before school starts, including the Danskin triathlon this weekend.

Saying yes to wearing skirts almost everyday.

Saying yes to hiring Katie to come work for me as an assistant full time when school starts = more time for making stuff.

Saying yes to taking the kids to the fair tonight even though it's super hot.

Saying yes to the adventure of a new relationship without worrying about what it all means. One day at a time. One moment at a time.

Saying yes to letting go.

Saying yes to letting in.

Saying yes to daring greatly.

What are you saying yes to these days?

saying yes to my only DD going to college, I suffer from anxiety just thinking she will not be here every day but I am embracing the change for her the best I can, and as passage and part of life.
saying yes to a new boss all of a sudden, who I do not even have spoken yet and see what he will bring new this time.
saying yes to a new client that is totally new and different
saying yes to a memory file project that is the most difficult scrapbook project I ever did.
saying yes to see doctors and seeking for new treatments to my back challenges.

Honestly, I haven't said yes to much recently. My 5yr old has been nasty and violently temperamental the past few weeks. Every time I think of something fun and creative for us to do, he loses privileges and access to "fun" things by another outburst that can't be overlooked or ignored. I'm so tired of saying no that I'm going nutty. However. This too shall pass I and I really need to do what you've done- come up with a list of Yeses. I'm glad to read that you've got so many yeses and that they're so positive and happy. Happy for you!

I'm saying Yes to picking up the phone and calling family and friends, and not just waiting until there is bad news to share. No matter our differences or the paths we have chosen, the bond is there. It just needs to be strengthened.

I'm saying yes to spending more time outside with my daughter in the evenings, even though I'm not an outside person. I'm also saying yes to my daughter going to preschool, even though it's killing me to watch her grow up a bit and having a bit of a time adjusting. I'm saying yes to trusting God that he'll work all of it out for the best.

Stepping out of my head and letting go of the fear that sometimes holds me back. It means I'm living a fuller life in small ways...which I hope will add up to big ways one day. Loved reading what you're saying yes to!

Don't know if you read these or not, but I saw another blog post today, after reading yours, and thought you would really appreciate it. Here's the URL: http://wendysueanderson.blogspot.com/2012/08/a-peaceful-place.html
The person about whom this person is blogging said something like your to-do list will be there tomorrow, but that child will be one day older. It made me think of you and the thoughtful way your raise your children. Peace : )

Ali, this is a JOY to read, sooooo very happy for you!! Lots of good things going on for you, much deserved and needed. ENJOY them one day and one moment at a time! How sweet is that picture, they both look so BIG!

I read your camping post too and love love it, glad you went again this year and for Lucy being around for another year with you. How nice that Chris got to take care of her for you.

The biggest change in our lives and biggest YES for us is homeschooling 2 of my kids this year. They both came and asked me and we signed them up for the online school here in Ohio. We will be taking it one day and one moment at a time, just like you. I'm excited and nervous about this change but trusting this is what they need right now.

Enjoy the last of summer! HUGS and prayers for you!

Ali: There's a post by the Cleveland Air Show on FB that Simon might like. I tried to copy and paste it, but no go. It's a picture of a fighter jet in Legos and I thought of Simon immediately.

    Ali, so happy for you!!!

I am saying yes to living fearlessly. I got a new job and signed up for a 5K even though I currently do not run. I think I finally got tired of being afraid of trying new things and possibly failing at them. I am in a good place of open-mindedness and believing in myself. A great place to be. I am thankful.

I am learning to say yes to saying no. I took on everything that people gave me to the point where I started to drown. Now I am learning to say no and it's fantastic.
