December Daily® 2023 | Story 14
Welcome to Story 14 in my 2023 December Daily® album.
Most years I love to include something from my parents. This year I've been saving up some of the recent photos they've sent via text in order to get their voices/images into my project. I love seeing them enjoy these years in their lives together.
Let's go to the video:
Here's my Table Of Contents entry:
Here's a look at the different pieces in this spread:
I printed my photo 10 inches wide x 8.25 inches tall to fit the back of Story 13. I printed three smaller photos that are each about 1.5 inches wide x 2.25 inches tall.
I used foam adhesive to attach the three smaller photos on top of my enlarged photo. Above the photos I added the "falala" die cut and the quotation marks from a past chipboard set.
The second part of the spread includes the large die cut page insert stitched to a numbered 3 inch x 8 inch journal card from the Present Story Kit. On top of the journal card I added a 3 inch x 8 inch gold star page and added a photo of me and my Dad from 1980. On the outside of the page I added a gold embossed circle stamp and added gold puffy numbers on top and added a gold tab sticker along the outside edge.
On the journal card I added a few details about each of the three small photos on top of the rainbow photo.
I added the year to the photo of me + my Dad back in 1980. I loved combining the brush pen with the slick writer again.

First, I have been creating scrapbooks in some fashion since I was young but am relatively new to December Daily (which I am loving) and have enjoyed watching the videos for great creative ideas! That said, I was wondering what prompts you to use red line tape vs the 'rolling adhesive'? It seems that you use it interchangeably but not convinced :)
When I really want to make sure something stays stuck together I'll go with the red line tape. Feels like an extra level of stickiness. I haven't had issues with the rolling adhesive coming apart, but the red line tape feels more permanent to me.

I love everything about this one! I really think I need to start printing at home, if for nothing but the ability to be spontaneously creative. I love that you’re grabbing old photos and incorporating them, it just adds another level to the storytelling. Thanks for sharing!
It's a game-changer!

LOVED your story today Ali!! Did you scan your photo of you & your Dad? Do you have any slides of your parents and how do you scan those? Looking for a scanner for my dad's slides. THANK YOU!!! LOVE YOUR ALBUM THIS YEAR SOOOOO DARN MUCH!!!
I just took a photo of it with my phone!

I love this! I missed out on the diecut page inserts but I bought the digital with the idea of recreating it with my cricut. Unfortunately I don't have print & cut ability - just cutting. Is there a way to create a two-layer png or svg file that would recreate the white-on-gold look of the original?
