And today.

and then about 10 minutes later...

Chris left early for a meeting this morning and called to make sure I looked outside. These are the skies that greeted me today. Amazing.

Simon had his first speech therapy appointment this morning. It has been scheduled since October so it is not directly in relation to the recent diagnosis. It was a fairly quick appointment. Debby plays with Simon...repeating basic words to him as he plays. I gather that she is looking to have him repeat some of the words she is using - such as up, down, car, slide, in, out, etc. Today he said a few words including: wow, car, slide, Pooh, water.

Today we have our transition meeting with EC Cares where we sign paperwork moving from Early Intervention to Early Childhood Special Education (this happens at age three). Following this meeting - and soon I hope - we will be working out his schooling, therapies, etc. through what they call an IFSP: Individual Family Servies Plan. This will lay out a plan for one year with specific goals and recommendations. We had hoped this would happen today with the transition meeting but there are some issues with the fact that Simon's CDRC evaluation did not include any scores from the testing because he would not cooperate/could not with the testing. It sounds as if they (EC Cares) need scores to recommend placement, therapies, etc. I am waiting on a call from the person who deals with this part. THERE ARE SO MANY PEOPLE EACH WITH THEIR OWN FUNTION. It is a full time job just coordinating between all these people and making sure that things happen in the right order, in the most efficent manner.
