Terry and Yvonne - email me and I will get you in touch with Shimelle for the class. After reading through all the comments yesterday I totally want to do it again - thinking that maybe I will just do it when I can as the month goes by. It is such a great way just to celebrate the season (and does not have to take much time at all).

And next up, I wanted to share a Thanksgiving album I made from a new kit club created by my friend Tricia: COCOA DAISY. Tricia lives just up the road from me. We met a year or so ago when we drove together (with our other friend Emily) down to some classes I taught at No Bare Pages. Since that day we have had lots of great lunches and chats - most recently she and I and Emily have been going to Dream Dinners once a month (I need to do a whole post about that place - I LOVE it) and then out to dinner afterwards. Awesome girl time.

I was so excited for Tricia when she told me she wanted to start a monthly kit club. She has great taste and a fantastic work ethic. When I got this first kit I totally knew I wanted to create a Thanksgiving album - the idea was to get it done before Thanksgiving so all I will need to do is add in my photos and journaling. And you guys know how much I love miniBOOKS.

So here's my creation from the November kit:

Cd_thanksgiving1

A close-up on the cover: chipboard circle pieces + rub ons + stamps (from my own collection) + glossy accents on top for the coating + clock

And the inside. Once I have some journaling I plan to print it onto cardstock and add it to the left side (mixed in with the other elements). Photos with a white border will go on the right side of the album.

The chipboard swirl accents were painted with Delta Trail Tan acrylic paint and stamped with the Remember stamp (product 294E) from Catslife Press.

The "give thanks" accents were created using my Wacom tablet + printed onto cardstock + and the edges inked. I also used the Delta paint around the edge of each of the interior pages - felt more finished that way.

And the ribbon is super yummy.

Here's an in-process image and the inks I used:

Excited about filling this up over the next week.

LOVE the colors and printed papers, and best of all the simple beauty. I love ideas that are very doable! A couple of questions: 1) What is a Wacom tablet? 2) What is the "glossy accents on top for coating" that you used on the cover circles? I really like the look of these. Thanks, Jackie Hughes

Sooooooo dumb question coming from a page protector true believer: when you do these little spiral books, do you take them apart to cover the pages with patterned paper? And how do you keep the edges from going all dog-eared when people flip through the book? And does it get lumpy with all the different bulky accents? Are you using a regular spiral book like I used to sure for sketching or are there cardstock/chipboard journals?
This sort of nuts and bolts stuff might make a nice A Zine topic someday since so many of us are moving from just big albums to minibooks.
Keep up the good work, and go Ore. Dems! I voted and I am so relieved they have the house, senate and gov's again! Makes me relieved as a public school teacher!
