I LOVE that it helps me to remember things I would have forgotten. I love journaling and capturing the moment in the moment. Thanks, Ali!

My favorite thing about memory keeping is just having a place to look through and remember so many things that i had forgotten. I can't wait for years down the road for my daughter to be able to see how many special memories and stories and pictures i have documented.

My favorite thing right now is to add more journaling. In the past I've relied on the picture to tell the words...I then felt like I wasn't able to capture how I felt when taking the picture. So this summer, I'm journaling more!

my favorite thing about memory keeping right now is taking photographs. i might not have time to make the pages [b/c of crazy, busy summer schedules], but when the time is right, i'll be able to recall the memories so quickly b/c i feel i'm taking all of the right pictures. weeding out all of the sub-par shots and the ones i don't need. looking at activities [big & little ones] from different perspectives. wide shots & detail shots.
also learning to put the camera down and being in the moment helps when it comes time for journaling!
    thanks, ali!

hi. right now, my favorite thing about memory keeping is the excitement of using supplies and ending up with mini works of art! i am have been creating visual records of my nephew, 3 neices, (we have no human children of our own!)as well as Riley the Dog, Boo-Boo cat and my wonderfully, fantastic, supportive DH for quite sometime, and have always been inspired by the supplies...i just love going back and looking and touching all the layouts and other items that i have made. JOY comes to mind, each time I see what I have made. I keep several albums in my work office, and if I get stressed during the day, i pull one out and take a joyful memory ride, and I am instantly de-stressed!

Right now my favorite part is the looking back. I love to open an album and remember when my kids were small. I love looking at their little locks of hair from their first haircut, the first movie ticket stub, their little foot prints...It makes it all worth while.

My favorite thing is connecting with my extended family :) I have no family of my own so I scrap a great deal with my extended family, who all live a thousand miles away. I love feeling like I'm a part of their everyday life and knowing what's going on with them. Good stuff.

    Ali,
First, let me say that I enjoy reading your blog and looking at your .flickr pics.
After the premature birth of my first child in December, it became increasingly important for me to capture and preserve moments - the really special ones, and the everyday ones. I've been a scrapbooker for almost 10 years, but lately, the true passion has been rekindled. I find myself staying up later than I should because I'm working on the *perfect* layout for one of my daughter's photos! As her grandparents are older, I think it's also extremely important to preserve all the memories of her with them right now. One of the things I'm enjoying most right now is a tremendous amount of creative freedom. Scrapbooking has expanded beyond basic mattes and stickers. Digital scrapping is one of my new loves, as well as hybrid scrapping. The use of 'non-traditional' scrapping materials is also a source of great inspiration at the moment.
In short, what's not to love about memory keeping?
Best wishes to you and your family,
    Susan S. from Arkansas

Everyday moments are what make my life what it is. Some are big, some small, some seem insignificant, and some like miracles - but all of them are important and keeping these moments on a scrapbook page or making quick mini-books, keeps me focused on the little things and as I get older, memory really does start to fade faster. My project 365 has especially helped me to notice all the details and to journal them for my book. It's also fun, creative, makes me think and learn, and usually is a stress-reliever! Even looking at others work is calming.

Scrapbooking actually helps me to get more out of events now. When we go places and do things I always have in the back of my mind that I may want to scrapbook this, so I am more aware of what's going on, the things my kids say, and (without sounding too corny) the feeling of what's being experienced. I take pictures that capture what I see is important in that event (including the scenery and candid shots as opposed to just posed faces).

I think my favorite thing about memory keeping is that it makes me realize I am living a very full, blessed life. When I'm feeling down, I just need to look at what I've scrapped to see that life is amazing.
(Adding my name to the pile and crossing my fingers that maybe I win this time.)

Documenting my childrens lives going back and seeing how far they have come in such a short amount of time. I treasure even the simple everyday moments those that you might not usually document.

My favorite part is that my children "remember" days and our everyday activities because of my scrapbooks, I know that they would forget the little things that we do together as a family if I had not captured them in pictures and in the journalling. That makes it important to me,

Thank you for the wonderful giveaway!
My favorite thing about memory keeping right now is recording our lives, the big and small things in albums big and small that my DH and my son love to poor over and show off!
I have recently in the last two years stopped worrying about having the latest and greatest products and i concentrate more on using my photos (great or not!)and writing the stories. Such a great feeling!

I am loving pulling out years of old photos, getting them organized and reliving great memories. The fact that these photos will now have a home and be enjoyed, instead of sitting in a box under my bed, is amazing. Plus -- i love, love, love going to work on a Monday morning with gesso on my fingers and ink staining my fingernails. Signs of a productive and creative weekend!!

I loving having all those old pictures of my boys that are grown and gone out of the house now, that I have more time to scrap them and look at how much they have grown and become wonderful young men. What a great time it was for our family even though we were poor and far from family. We had each other.

Having our memories documented helps us remember all those little things that brought us so much joy. It helps to paint our life picture and tell our story, its a way to see our accomplishments, remember milestones and fun things we do. This is why I like memory keeping.

for me its just about remembering. plain and simple. i know that there is the possibility that someday in the future i may not remember the life i have right now. i will be able to look back and smile and laugh at this funny little boy that is my son. he will also be able to see just how much his mommy loves him and enjoyed his company.

Although I have found myself in a bit of a lull with actual scrapbooking lately, my favorite thing is the connections and passions that I have created with my (now teenage)children for taking pictures and finding the every in everyday life.
Our favorite thing to do as a family...stand in a small circle and take a photo of our feet in a special spot while on vacation. While hiking on the beautiful red rock in Sedona Arizona last week, a woman said, "Im going to start doing that with my family." Like I said , it's the connections. Thanks Ali.
