On My Mind : Random Wednesday Thoughts

Leaf

1. If you are local (live in Lane County, Oregon) don't forget that your mail-in ballot requires two stamps this time (actually 59 cents)...you may have missed that on the notes inside the ballot which was not listed on the outside of the return envelope. You can also drop-off your ballot at one of the approved drop-off locations.

2. This very interesting article from the New York Times: Reaching An Autistic Teenager

3. This song: All My Days by Alexi Murdoch

4. Baking lasagna tonight. Being home more (with a ton less travel than in the past) has really enabled me to do some cooking and baking and organizing done in the kitchen. Totally enjoying that right now. Yes, probably another symptom of early nesting.

Babyclothes

5. Another nesting symptom above. Hanging up baby clothes. Right now my office is still in the baby's room but I did make some space in the closet so I could see what I have and what we need (right now I have a nice little bit of pink mixed in with reds and oranges). And yes, I like matching hangers. Edited: Baby hangers can be found here.

6. I plan to post my 2007 Halloween minibook tomorrow. Finished it up yesterday and need to take pictures.

7. Scrapbook.com now has my new Technique Tuesday stamps available: Today You, Bits & Pieces, and Capture The Moment.

8. Loving that Simon really likes the new coat he helped pick out at Target the other day. He picked the blue one.

9. Robert Guest's letters to his kids (via Cookie). Imagine if you did this just once a month. Or once a year. I have done a few scrapbook layouts that are letters to Simon...it's another great way to approach your journaling.

10. A great list of eco-friendly gift ideas for kids: Bkids.

Saw Chris on KVAL last night talking about the need for the post office to deliver the ballots anyway. He was good on camera!

Great post, and thanks for wonderful links! It's nice to know there's someone else out there who has a thing for matching hangers :) And on busy days like today it's nice to enjoy some randomness.
    Happy nesting :)

The fact that your post pops up at 5:00 in the morning, makes me smile everytime! Sure you probably type your post the night before, but I like to think some people wake up early with creative happy thoughts! Good day to you!

Thanks so much for the article link.
I teach 3 yr olds and the past several years I have seen an increase in ASD kids.
I have passed the article link along to others who are interested in helping children learn.
Also I'm looking forward to your Halloween mini album.

    matching hangers are a must.
so cute to see the little pinks. (i've bought a couple pink things, just in case - but they're going to be coming your way if it comes out a little fella!)
    love you!

I'm thinking of putting together a mini book for each of my kids with one picture from each Halloween - they've been asking what different costumes they've worn over the years.

    Ali,
did you wash all the baby's clothes before you hung them up? mine went straight from bag to hanger, but I figured I won't wash them until later.
and I have to restrain myself from buying too much...we don't know what we're having, so there is a plethora of green in the closet right now.

Thank you for providing the link to the NY Times article.
My son is 18 1/2 and it is so neat to read about the success of other young people his age.

thanks for the article link. My future goal is to someday open a school for kids who have autism. I am trying to soak up all the information I can. I especially love that the school serves teens, here in AZ much of the services provided and many of the specialized schools do not serve teens.
