Our favorite summer tradition is to meet at a cousins hose in southern West Virginia over the fourth of July holiday on the Greenbriar River. We have cookouts, bon fires, white water raft, and shoot off fire works. We love it, and we love each other.

Our Summer tradition has to be spending our weekends at the pool. We usually spend pack up a bag and a cooler of food and drinks that morning, and head out to be by the pool all day. At the end of the day, we either pick up food to eat at the pool or we grill out by the pool...SO NICE!

While we haven't been able to go every summer, we look forward to our 4th summer road trip (from WI)& staying at the gulf coast in a beach house for a week (AL). Usually it's our family + cousins. Sun, sand, ocean, summer food, fun, memories!

Since my kids were small we have always splurged in the summer and joined a local pool. In the morning the kids take swim lessons or now, are on the swim team and the afternoon is for playing at the pool. We all relax, meet new friends and have fun cheering the swimmers on at swim meet nights. The smell of chlorine and sunblock and lots of damp towels and suits means its summer around my house!

It has become our summer tradition to go to the lake house every year during fourth of July week for our vacation. It's a great time to see family, fish, swim, relax and have fun. (And for me, to scrap!)

My new favorite summer tradition is having my two 9yr old nephews over for a sleepover and then taking them to Double A baseball at a stadium near us. We did this last year and after the game one of them asked "Auntie - can we make this a tradition - a sleepover, then a game?" How could I refuse? So we just had our 2nd Annual Fisher Cat weekend last weekend - and had a blast!!!

My dad died in 2000 my kids were 18 and 16. Every August prior to that and through my childhood we went to the New Jersey Sea Shore for two weeks. Hands down there are no better memories that I or my children will ever be able to have, I feel so blessed that we had those summers with my Dad, he was an amazing person.

Sounds rather ordinary, but our tradition is picnic in the park and then we rent a pedel boat and go out on the lake. So fun...

My favorite summer tradition is to visit the outdoor theater, The Muny, here in my home town St. Louis with my dad. Each year we would get season tickets and have a date night once a week in the summer.

My husband and I were both born on the 4th of July (same year, too), so definitely fireworks... fireworks bring back so many memories of soooo many birthdays. BUT! You can't have fireworks without watermelon! So... fireworks and watermelon! : )
