Joyously lived.

Found this gem on Brene's blog recently.

I love what she said about it,

To choose joy over the fear and vulnerability of being different or
weird or ridiculed is a tremendous act of courage - one that touches
all of us.

It also totally reminds me to stop just going through the motions, or doing things just because that is the way they have always been done. What a tremendously wonderful celebration of life.

It seriously makes me want to get up and dance.

I want my life to be so joyously lived.

This is such an awesome video...I found it a few weeks ago and posted it on my Facebook Wall to give all of my friends a happy boost for the day. It totally made me want to redo my wedding day from 12 years ago and tap into my inner "I don't care what people think" attitude!

What a way to start a marriage! I love that they did what they wanted on their terms. We had to fight a little to do what we wanted at our wedding. My husband-to-be and I walked down the aisle together instead of my father walking me; we got married in a library instead of a church (where we met); and I had no bridemaids. So many times weddings are tainted by bad memories of what others want your wedding to be and what the bride and groom want is lost. So glad these guys didn't let that happen to them.

What an awesome idea! I don't think it disrespects the church it just shows how joyous the couple feels about getting married. I would have loved to have done this at my wedding.

    That quote is well said!
My in-laws think we're "different" because we don't like going along with everything because everyone else does. We do things the way that suits us. It is okay to be different!

I absolutely adored this too...I found it last week on another blog. I was hoping it would appeal to my daughter (16 now...) for the future but unfortunately she is too shy. I would certainly do it myself! I actually cried it was really so touching & beautiful. And indeed, why should we fear doing something "out of the ordinary" or against the conformity. I am the lady in the brightly-coloured sarong with the neon pink flip-flops & the smile in the mall...and I see so many WAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more beautiful than me...in stuffy clothing with worn expressions...because they look like they have allowed the burdens of life to sit heavily on their shoulders & not exercised the right to be happy in all circumstances ;-D

I was married two weeks ago, and my priest mentioned this video in his sermon, pointing to the fact that so often, more preparation is put into the wedding day than the marriage. I had not yet seen the video at the time, and when I saw it two days after my wedding, I thought about what he said. While it was meant in good fun, I actually found it somewhat appalling. Though I loved the song, I thought that the dance moves set the wrong tone for such an occasion.

wow - thanks for posting this Ali, hadn't seen it before.
So truely joyful and happy. It gave me goosebumps all the while with a smile on my face.
Live your life they way you want to, not the way you're supposed to. How beautiful is it to see this in action.
