Now that my kids are all grown and moved out of the house - I am starting to think more about my needs or wants. I have changed my diet and exercise routine so I can become healthier, started to take classes in scrapbooking and photography and on Sundays I unplug so I can rest, relax and read more. Trying to find a balance and enjoy life more. Thanks

Something for myself-I guess the most recent thing was quitting my job! I was very unhappy and things were going badly and even though I felt a little guilty, I knew I needed to get out of there. So I did. And, I feel so much better and so much happier!

I don't normally do stuff "just" for me even though I know I really need to, but last night I came home from work and made it a point to put on my sweats and do NOTHING! I didn't even answer the phone, let alone pick up or anything else. I even told my husband he was on his own for finding his own dinner. :)

I went on a scrapbooking retreating with a group of friends for a weekend. It was a great way to catch up on my scrapbooking while taking a break away from my lovely family and rejuvenating.

As a card maker I never get to keep what I create, so what I've done for myself lately is to start scrapbooking a christmas calender - one 12x12 layout for each day. And I'm hooked! ;)

I went with my sister for makeup lessons & learned to do a "smokey eye." I don't really wear makeup, so this was a real learning experience!

In December, I ran a marathon and it felt like one of the most amazing accomplishments of my life. But in January, I fell into an "everything else comes first" rut and I've been there ever since. So, this morning, I ran, and it felt great! Thanks for all the inspiration... and thank you for the amazing blog entry this week about Simon's comments about school. I really empathized.
