Around The Room | Living With Your Photos + Color Inc Giveaway

I'm a huge fan of living with your photos. Out of albums, off your computer and onto your walls.

Over the years I've amassed quite a collection of family images - many of the recent ones being mounted rather than framed as you'll see below (and above). When I first starting hanging up photos I wanted them to be all black frames with white mats. Now I'm really enjoying the variety of both the framed and simply mounted images.

Around our house I've got quite a few gatherings happening on the walls. Some are consistent collections (meaning all mounted or all framed) and others are a mixture of the two.

The first ones I want to talk about line the hall from our entry into the kitchen.

The images are 12x12 photos are "standout mounted" from Color Inc. (Color Inc is a sponsor of my blog and has been generous with samples for me in the past and as you'll see below. This set I purchased on my own. They are excellent quality and have wonderful customer service.) When we moved into this house I ordered eight or nine of these with the intent that they would be grouped together and I love them.

They are mounted onto the wall using Miller Studio Magic Mounts removable mounting tabs. I tried a couple of other brands and these have worked the best.

You might have seen this image a couple weeks ago. This is in our dining area, between the kitchen and living room. This wall has a combination of framed and mounted images. The one of Simon and Anna in the blue shirts is from Persnickety Prints.

Upstairs I've got a few other collections starting. In the room you enter before coming into my office I've got a large standout mount from Color Inc (photo taken by Tracey Clark). That one is 3o inches x 20 inches.

In my office I've included two Ikea frames with 12x12 photos of me and Chris as kids. I enlarged these 1970's photos on my scanner and they were printed at Scrapbookpictures.com. These hung in Anna's room in our last house.

A little collage in Simon's room that includes photos, Star Wars stamps, and a signed photo of Yoda from Frank Oz.

And this one was in Anna's room in our last house. I didn't recreate it here yet, but it was a favorite in the old place.

In our bedroom I'm just beginning to build a photo wall.

The newest addition is a Framed Gallery Wrap Canvas from ColorInc. As one of my sponsors they kindly sent me this new product to review and want me to give one away as well (with your own photo of course).

Here's what they have to say about this new product:

Love the sleek modern style of a Gallery Wrapped Canvas? Now you can add a frame! Our Gallery Wrapped Canvas Frames will give you that same modern and edgy look you've wanted but with a touch of traditional style to give you a unique shadow box feel to add to any home, work, or studio wall space!

These ready to hang Gallery Wrapped Canvases come with a 2 1/8'' deep smooth black laminate frame. With a 1/2'' floating space between your canvas and frame, each of our hand wrapped canvas prints will be permanently attached with the finest attention to detail. Each piece will arrive properly finished with a wire hanger, bumpers and Tyvek® backing. A true first class upgrade to your studio or home!

These Framed Gallery Wrapped Canvases are really, really nice. I didn't realize when I was ordering it that there's a space between the frame and the wrapped canvas but when I opened the package here at home I was really pleasantly surprised. I'd definitely consider ordering another one.

GIVEAWAY | One Framed Gallery Wrapped Canvas (20 x 14 or smaller) from ColorInc.

We just moved and are finally getting all our furniture settled so now I'm ready to dig into the mad stash of pictures and frames hanging out in my bedroom and HANG some pictures! In our last home I created a collage wall similar to yours, but every time I wanted a new print I hated covering up a beloved one. So I just keep buying new frames and expanding, expanding!

Just a couple. I take so many photos but it's a challenge to get them printed and hung.

I currently have family photos hanging on the entire wall next to my stairs - sort of a private gallery for my family (and close friends) to enjoy. Wanting to add some special enlarged prints to other areas in our home. Thanks for the great ideas and resource info. I am definitely going to check out ColorInc - love some of the print options on their website.

I am almost done with my type case drawer thanks to the inspo from your blog. I also store my albums open with my favorite page showing. I have been wanting to have a canvas made but was not sure what company to use. The products look great I will check them out for sure!

I have photos in almost every room of my house. Some are scrapbook pages in frames on the wall, some pictures are grouped in frames, several small albums scattered around, and several groupings of heritage photos. I love to display my pages in a variety of ways, in frames, on clipboards, and handmade frames as well as store bought frames.

You've totally inspired the photo collages in my home.
In my son's bedroom I have a baby picture of him flanked by childhood pictures of me & my husband. Being a multi-racial family it's been fun to update these pictures and see the different ways he resembles us.
Our living room features a large collage of family & friend photos.
I'm working on a collage for our master bedroom - this unique framed art would be perfect to feature here. Thank you for the opportunity!

In addition to the scrapbooks and files on the computer I love having my current favorite photos out and about. My husband and I converted two old barn windows into a place to display 12x12 photos (We hang them in sheet protectors so we can change them out easily).
I love the warmth and feeling of belonging that special photos invoke.

I just had my entire house repainted last Nov. Just ready now to start putting things back on the walls. I've always had lots of photos up but just in regular frames. I love how the gallery wrapped canvas can add dimension to the photos on the walls. I think I will try it. Thank you.

I keep a picture on my dash in the car from our wedding anniversary each year. My husband travels for two weeks at a time at least once a year and I have found looking at our picture when I am in the car to be comforting when he is gone.

I like variety. So I hang my photos or 12x12 scrapbook page layouts from those gripper bars from advantus. Two of them placed next to each other allow me to put a two-page layout on the wall to enjoy for a while before putting them in an album.

I live with my photos in every room of the house. I have a large collage, similar to what you had in Anna's room (white frames). I have a collection of random frame sizes on the mantel and other shelves. I also have a few groups of favorite vacation places. I love to look at those and remember the fun times we had.

    Thanks for the giveaway!

I have the best intentions to hang my pictures and then I get afraid to committ on permanent placement. Then the pictures get outdated. I love how they look on your walls. I would love to have that look on my own walls.

I have a small "wall of pictures" of the people we love and favorite moments with them. We also have framed photos of favorite places we've visited. There's still room and ideas for more. I have not tried canvas wrapped prints, but like how they look.

    Thanks for the giveaway. :)

I am a fan of hanging photos around the house. Most of my photo collections tell stories about the places I have traveled. I like to display them on bookshelves along with souvenirs bought from the locations of that particular place. I also have dedicated one shelf to each place I have visited, bought extra clocks from Ikea, and included the different time zones of that current location. I just started ordering gallery wrapped canvas and think I will be ordering more in the future.
