My favorite this to receive on Mother's Day is something homemade and heart-felt. I don't want another trinket. I just want something from the heart.

I love a family field trip to the garden nursery to discover new specimens to bring home and incorporate into our landscape. That and a break from any meal prep topped with original art from my kids - ahh so refreshing.

My favorite things I've given my mom over the years are scrap and photo books I've assembled especially for her. One recent favorite was a mini book I made of her cats that she now has on display.

I usually get breakfast in bed - which is the cutest thing, cuz my three little ones come up with the meal themselves. I always love the combinations they come up with. :)

One year, on behalf of our little girls, my husband got me a bird of paradise plant. He doesn't like them but he knows I do so the gift was extra special.

My favorite thing to receive on Mother's Day? I think it would be the gift of sleeping in, honestly. That tops pretty much any material posession I could ask for! :)

My favorite Mother's Day gift was a letter from my husband telling me what a good mother I am. I also love doing Mother's Day photo shoots with me and my child. I've always wanted mother/child jewelry though.

I love getting flowers to plant outside for Mother's Day. I'm thinking a new rose bush would be perfect this year. That way we get to enjoy it for years to come.

My favorite thing to receive is anything my son makes for me. He is now 12 so the little crafts are starting to end, but he almost always makes me a homemade card. I have kept everyone of them for the last 12 years.

What great giveaways! I have only celebrated one mother's day so far with my little girl. But, I love to make things for my mom and mother-in-law every year. I always feel like it is something specail to do. This year I'm doing canvas paintings with pictures of my daughter for each of them. My daughter also paints pictures for each of them. They love it!

I gave my mom a really cool journal by Lotta Jansdotter one year. She is a writer and it was small enough to carry around but big enough to get it all down. The designs by Lotta were inspiring and it combined our love of fabric, paper and words.
