June Studio AE from Technique Tuesday Blog Hop

Welcome to the June Studio AE from Technique Tuesday blog hop.

June's stamp is called Life Right Now:

A similar digital version of this set is available here.

Here's a look at my layout:

Simple white cardstock background. Outline machine stitching. Simple photo (that I love). Simple journaling about her life right now at age 3.

Here's a look at some of the details:

I started out by using my sewing machine to stitch a foundation and then embossed the "life right now" stamp with Zing Brown Sugar embossing powder.

Underneath I cut and adhered a flower accent from Crate Paper's Pretty Party Chipboard Accents.

Above the photo I added the circle three which was cut (with a circle punch) from Crate Paper's Tag Cuts 12x12 Storyteller Paper. I added another line of stitching and some more of those wood veneer stars from Studio Calico (using glossy accents).

Below the chipboard flower piece I embossed "love this" and added stitched lines for my journaling.

In the opposite corner I added a couple words.

On top of the flower chipboard I stapled a letter "A" from the cork alpha is from Close To My Heart.

Hi Ali, I love how you captured your precious Anna in her gymnastics class! Your page is beautiful (and I love the stitching!). You brought so many awesome memories of when my now 15 year old teenager used to enjoy gymnastics class at Anna's age. Oh, how time passes away so quickly. This is exactly why capturing these so very magical memories is truly so very important! Thanks for the continued inspiration throughout all of these years! I have also enjoyed seeing your garden entries lately. I love your garden and flowers! Happy Sunday! :)

    Beautiful as always, Ali!
Tell me, though, how did you know how many lines to sew for the journalling? My downfall would be putting in the stitches lines, then running out of room for my journalling :-O

I knew that the journaling was going to be short (as in not-complete sentences) so I just guessed at about how much I would want to write and then stopped writing when I got to the end (let the stitching dictate the amount of words). Don't overthink :).

Oh my! Love this layout. I'm so happy I finally subscribed to Studio AE - got my first set a couple of weeks ago and can't wait for this new set to arrive in my mailbox. The shipping rate changes definitely made it more affordable for me here in Canada.
