Project Life 2013 | Week Nine (Includes February Day In The Life)

Welcome to Project Life | Week Nine.

We've got a whole week of Project Life inspiration coming at you this week as Katie and I share the week's we've been playing catch up on recently.

My week nine includes two inserts. The first is Simon's chart and the text that went along with my post and the second is my February Day In The Life.

One of the things I noticed as I was working on week nine was that catch up spreads offer an excellent opportunity to tell more broad vs. specific stories. I can set the scene for what usually happens and then provide details about what was the same or what was different. I can reflect. I can write with perspective vs. in the moment documentation.

I love that there's room for all that within Project Life.

Here's a closer look at Week Nine:

Cutting up the journaling cards and attaching them to photos is definitely a go-to for me. I still find myself doing that just about every week.

The two journaling cards in the middle are from my Outline 3x4 Journal Card set (it includes 4 PDF's in orange, beige, blue, and black for easy printing).

I also played around the "this is life" cards that come with the Seafoam kit by adding some embossing powder around the outside of the circle.

Giga 3.5 Circle Punch + a piece of paper (I used some packaging from my recycle bin) + journal card from the Seafoam kit + Versamark Embossing Ink + Zing White Embossing Powder = a fun take on the journal card.

I laid the circle piece on top of the card (covering the circle) and put embossing ink around the edges.

Just a fun way to embellish those cards a bit.

That 1/2 circle and star combination (dimensional sticker) on the journaling card next to it is from My Mind's Eye.

The first insert includes Simon's first week using his new chart. You can read more about that here. I took the content directly from that post and turned it into an 8.5x11 layout.

Triangle pattern paper is from Dear Lizzy (5th And Frolic Cartwheel Court). On top of that I used two different day of the week washi tapes - one from My Minds Eye and the other from KI Memories. On top of those two I added a gold star strip of washi tape from Freckled Fawn. Letter stickers are corrugated black from American Crafts.

The red "status update" stamp is from a super cool set by Kelly Purkey called Happiness Is.

Along the edges of most of my inserts I include an adhesive tab. This time I also included sentiments from my Just Awesome stamp set which happen to fit perfectly onto those little strips of paper that come with the tabs.

The second insert is a 6x12 that includes my Day In The Life documentation for February.

The digital layered template I'm using each month is available here.

I did a bunch of embellishing to the two 6x12 pages I printed out earlier this month.

Here's a look at them side by side:

I added a bunch of Studio Calico embellishments including geotag & arrow Thickers from the Block Party kit and those little polaroid frames.

I added some more journaling (that whole after-the-fact-perspective I mentioned at the beginning of this post) directly to the photo using an American Crafts Precision Pen.

The last page of the spread includes one of Simon's drawings, a couple more photos, and a parking receipt from the airport.

I can't tell you how excited I was to see Heidi Swapp bring out some plastic letters again (I don't see that they are available online yet - checking on that). Love them.

The "life banner" was cut using the Silhouette and is from my set called Banner Me Vol. 1.

The chalkboard heart messages that your mom drew made my eyes all teary. May you never take for granted how incredibly fortunate you are that your mom loves you all so honestly and openly. Have a beautiful Easter.

Another awesome week! I love the embossing on the seafoam card and the heart messages from your Mom! Awesome idea using a copy of Simon's chart, too. That's something that will definately be interesting to look back on in a year or 2 time!

Thanks for sharing another awesome spread!

Trust your "Mom intuition" in finding Simon's next school. As a mom of two adult sons with autism, that was the best advice I got - and it always works!
