Supply Replenishment No.02

AE_SupplyNo2

As we get back in gear around here (meaning I’m making more traditional layouts & completing Project Life® 2013) one of the things I thought would be fun is to share what products I’m purchasing from time to time.

Here's a look at the order I placed on National Scrapbook Day from Scrapbook.com:

Memory keeping products come my way from a combination of sources. Sometimes companies send me samples of their new products. Sometimes I will request specific products from companies when I have a particular use in mind (such as for a workshop). Sometimes I'm the one designing the products. And other times I order supplies from companies because I like the simplicity of picking and choosing and supporting both the online retailers and the manufacturers with my own money.

When I buy items from online retailers I don’t always have a project in mind. Most of the time I just see something I like (cool pattern, color, etc) or I’m restocking something I use regularly (adhesive, pens, etc).

My question to you today - when I do this kind of post do you like to have the supplies listed like we have them below or would you rather see a visual list like when I do supply lists on products (where you can see and then click on the products)? I'd love your feedback on that if you have a minute.

Here's a list of products from my recent order from Scrapbook.com that I'm showing in the video above:

Watch for these products to be appearing on layouts & projects in the near future.

I also would like a visual list where I can see a picture, click the picture and go to the product page. Like the ones Jennifer McGuire has here at the bottom of her post: http://www.jennifermcguireink.com/2013/11/my-favorite-crafty-things-die-cutting-giveaways-discounts.html

Videos are a nice addition too. I do like to hear why you picked each item and how you envision using them. It give me some inspiration!

Thanks for the list of stuff and the video. Neat stuff. To answer your question it doesn't matter to me, I don't have any preference. Whatever's easier. Michelle t

I like the video to see the products and to hear why you got them. The clickable links allowed me to make a shopping list for Scrapbooking.com. I feel the video is more valuable than the visual list.

I would love to know how you are sorting your papers for storage since I saw that you purchased one or two sheets from different manufacturers with no set project in mind. Are you keeping them all together or do you sort by color, manufacturer, project? I always have trouble with this.

Hey Dani - for the vellum I usually store all my vellum together (or all my transparencies). I do most by manufacturer but I also have a random one for companies where I might just have one or two sheets. Did you see my office post a few weeks back? You can see what I use for storage there: http://aliedwards.com/2014/04/around-the-office-spring-2014-update.html

I love that you've started doing this video "series"! The biggest thing I miss about Archiver's is the ability to go in and actually see the product in real life - sometimes things look so different in a screen shot. Thank you for sharing this!

Hi Ali - thanks so much for posting this. I love that you open the packages and show us the specifics. I also am loving that MME necessities line!

I like the visual links that you post for your product round-ups.

I'm not sure it matters to me which way it's listed...I guess I'd say the visual list.

I like the visual photos because sometimes it's hard to tell what the product is just from the description...especially sticker sheets..if I see the picture then I remember it from the video.
I do love these posts though, thanks for taking the time to do them!

I like the visual photos because I read your blog mostly in my email and if I don't click through, I don't even know there's a video there!
I always check out your "supplies used" section at the bottom of your posts - they're so useful when I see you've used something in a layout that I'm interested in!
