December Daily® 2020 | Story Ten

Welcome to December Daily® 2020 | Story Ten.

For my tenth story this year I decided to keep it really simple. I love the mix of craftiness + simplicity that is a part of the whole of my album and I love having a few easy + simple ideas in my back pocket for days when I've either got a lot or not a lot on my plate.

What is one small moment of magic you can find + document today?

Here's a look at the process:

And here are some additional photos of my finished story:

Today's story was prompted by one of the 4x6 cards in the Main Kit that focuses on finding magic in small moments. I knew that a small moment of joy/magic for me each day is checking in on my paperwhite + amaryllis bulbs to see where they are at in their growing cycle. I went downstairs, snapped a couple photos, came back upstairs and printed my photo and got to work on my page.

Adding 4x6 cards directly into your album is a great way to dip your toes into having elements of your project exist outside the page protectors. I simply adhered the card back to back with my photo on three sides (leaving off adhesive along the top so I can create a pocket for my 3x4 journal card) and punched the two holes so the card would sit in the middle of the rings.

I could have added journaling directly to my photo before printing but decided instead to simply handwrite my story on one of the 3x4 journal cards from the Main Kit. I adhered that card back to back with one of the sentiment cards from the Main Kit and added an Avery Index Tab along the top and slipped two of the perforated phrases from the Main Kit inside. For the story # I used the white puffy numbers.

On top of the 4x6 sentiment card I also added a cork star and I tucked one of the December Daily® tabs in between the 4x6 sentiment card and photo.

I'm seriously loving all the different sizes and textures and layers within my album this year.

Remember my friends, this project is more of a marathon than a sprint. Give yourself grace as you look for and record the stories. You've got this.

Thanks for the reminder to keep it simple! I was struggling with over engineered designs for Day 10 and instead have stripped it back and copied your approach - love the result and good to have it done!

Also looking forward to a weekly story on You Tube!

Eek! So excited to look forward to a weekly youtube from you. I have done DD for years with you, before you had kits and everything was "outside" of the page, so I am totally going without page protectors this year and loving being messy and textural. I have especially been appreciating your presence and projects this year...it has not been easy and there are days when I am feeling very lost. DD is really helping me get through this less than ideal Christmas season and I have decided to do One Little Word to help me to journal my thoughts and feelings and progress with myself which I can't really do in my PL for the coming year. Thanks for the honesty and laughs as you create in your videos.
