Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

I've really been wanting that book, just haven't found it yet.
Since we have three very lively preschool age boys our favorite thing to do right now is go to the park. They love it.

My favourite thing to do as a family is play and cuddle in bed on a weekend morning. Our boys are 21 months, and 2 weeks old, so still small enough to put up with cuddles!
Loving your posts lately (I managed to get a photos+words layout done...) and have been coveting that book too :o)

We attend church together every week and for a long time we went for an evening walk or early Sunday morning walk together. On the light side-we have been watching LOST this season as a family. Yea, we're a deep bunch! :)

My 5 yr old son and I share a passion for art. He loves to paint and draw and do pretty much anything I do. We spend many hours just creating.

we have dinner together around the table every evening with the whole family. This is the time we discuss our day and connect. We couldn't do without it!

I am so lucky to have such an awesome husband and great kids - we really do love to spend a LOT of time together! I hope it stays that way as they change into teenagers! Our family loves to make treats and take them around to our neighbors - we have wonderful people who live around us and it's a chance to go beyond the wave "hi!" and really chat them up.

We say a simple prayer and eat dinner together. It grounds us and reminds us how very lucky we are.

We go for bike rides and take the pup for walks together. And Colin loves baking, so we do that too.

I love just lying in bed and chatting about the day with my husband. Now that we have a newborn (4 weeks old today) we chat about what our son got up to. Looking forward to talking to him in the coming years too.

Eating dinner together is important to us. It's a time to share a funny story or a joke or two. Laughter is important to us.

We eat dinner together whether it's at the kitchen table or riding in the car it's always together. We also take time every night or almost every night to just hang out and have some adventure outside jumping on the trampoline, taking a walk, or just relaxing in the backyard swing. We are always together it seems the fab 5.

this is exactly what I need to keep my family busy and happy this summer! Our favorite thing to do together is have family movie night--every week we make homemade pizza and take turns picking a movie to watch (with popcorn and lots of treats too!).

What a cool book and giveaway! It's just the two of us - my husband and I - and we love to play board games together. We love trying to beat each other and teasing each other and of course, laughing up a storm! So much fun!

We have several things I love as a family, we have recently begun bike riding all together I love getting out with everyone and seeing our town in a new way, of course the hope of ice cream at the end is also a perk, I also love our Family movie night which alternates between all of us to pick and includes snuggles, popcorn, and blankies, and I love love love porch time where we all bring our books or journals and snuggle in on the front porch with tea to create and be together!!

would you believe coffee roasting and soccer have bought us together more. My husband roasts his own coffee, he has a trolley he pulls out onto the driveway, the boys get out their bikes, I talk to the neighbours or do some work in the garden, we all get out there together.
And soccer, well we all take Alec to training then Sunday we all go and watch his game. Both these things have got us outside doing things together as a family.

We visit a place called Staglands. About 6 times a year we go and walk around this amazing place built in natural surroundings and has lots and lots of amazing animals and birds to see and you can also feed them. We have taken the kids there since they were 6 weeks old. We have gone in sun, rain, snow, and icey. They love it, and we enjoy the yummy hot choc in the cafe at the end.....mmmmm.

We love to eat together. We turn off all technology as such and sit around and eat together. Right now my oldest is only 5 so they aren't trying to get away, but I really hope that we can continue to eat at least one meal a day as a family, together! (I LOVE, LOVE your site and scrapbook ideas. I am so thankful to have found your blog!!!)

We love to read together...in fact, whenever a book is being made into a movie, we can't see it until we've finished the book! The kids are older now--15, 12 & 8, but we already have Prince Caspian on tape for our road trip this weekend!

We also love to read together...instead of movie night, we go to Barnes & Noble, each pick out a lower-priced book or magazine, and go home and cuddle up on the couches with blankets and snacks and the books! So fun to snuggle and read together, and share what we are reading about...love it!

Oooohhhh, I've only seen the cover of that book...not had a chance to peek inside yet. What fun! As crazy as life can be these days, it's the simple moments I treasure most with my family; a walk, playing cards, reading books...just enjoying each others' presence.

Hi Ali! Thanks for all the inspiration.
My favorite thing to do with my family (which is now just my 6yr old daughter and I) is to go to the San Diego Zoo or the Wild Animal Park. We both love animals so much and we could just stare at the baby elephants and the baby lion cubs all day. and sometimes we do! ;)
