Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

my dh and dd (5yo) and I love to go for walks in parks, down to the beach and along the wharf here in Hobart, Tasmania (Australia) and check out the boats that come in, especially the Sydney to Hobart race each year.

We are (well maybe just me) really loving walks through Capitol Park in Sacramento. We can see trees from every state, watch fish, smell roses, view memorials, watch (and sometimes chase) squirrels, and just enjoy each others company. All free...and I get to take my camera :)

Every week, we have a family day. It starts on Friday night. We'll go to Lifetime Fitness Gym, eat dinner at a restaurant and then go to Border's bookstore. Afterwards,we'll head home for either a board game or movie. We all sleep very late.

In addition to attending church together and doing our daily devotional we love spending time taking a walk together or relaxing on the boat (so excited for summer on the horizon). Thanks for all the inspiration!

Our favourite family activity is a walk to the local lake to feed the ducks and then visit the local play ground on the way home.

The book sounds great! I think getting the family outside is so important -- for a bbq, a yard project, pumpkin or apple picking...relaxing and playful, the perfect activity.

I like to spend time going on walks, bike riding and going to the park. The kids are never happier, and it is so nice to be out and about.

I'm a single mom to a 4 year old and work very long hours so to be honest, just hugging him for hours on end and curling up with him to watch his fav shows as I sing to him and kiss his cheek is the ultimate best especially when he looks up at me and says, "I love you so much mommy" This may seem simple to some but worth every single important thing to me.

My little one loves the park. I think he could spend all day swinging. So fresh and fun!
I would LOVE this book. I have been meaning to pick it up. Free would be nice!

Our favorite thing to do together as a family is to have dinner together as many nights as we can in our hectic schedules (we try for at least four nights a week)

we go to my mother-in-law's lakehouse in Michigan. It's so good to get away from the every day hustle and bustle....see the lake...see extended family. Fun. Good stuff.

To this day my family still loves to lay board games together. My siblings are now all in their early twenties and if we have an hour or two to spare, usually on the weekend, we haul out a board-game. Lately our favorite has been an oldie but a goodie, Globetrotters, great for geography skills, another newer favorite is Settlers of Catan and Caracazone.

I would love to have this book to give to my daughters now that they are moms! When our kids were little, we loved having meals together, going for Sunday drives which often included a picnic and time at the river/lake to throw rocks, and always, always reading bedtime stories together.
    Thanks for being so generous!

One of my favorite things to do with my family is hang out in the kitchen! We paint, color, cook, sing, and dance in the
kitchen. Lots of good memories there.

One of my two favourite things to do with my two toddler boys and my husband is to play a wooshie-kushie game [rubbing other's nose with the palm of our hand], and having a family huggle [aka. hug] in bed in the morning!

love the layouts of Simon. It's great that he loves getting his day back on track and moving on in such a fun way. We are outside as much as we can be. I'm jealous of your hot weather. Here in MN it's still only about 60 degrees and windy. Thanks as always for being an inspiration.

We bond over board games. We have moved up from Candy Land to Clue and love Whoknew and anything by Cranium. We are getting ready to move next month and I have plans for some awesome open shelves from Ikea to hold games in our new family room. Family fun is such an important priority. Good luck to all who attempt/accomplish it!

There's nothing like gathering around the table and eating good food + sharing stories + making each other laugh + telling each other how our day was spent. A lunch or dinner could go on for at least two hours when we are having so much fun. :)

Just a really simple one here - reading together in bed - out loud, to ourselves, shared. I just love the relaxed nature of it and the closeness of each of us.
