Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

Two different things that we do as a family that I consider unique:
We eat lunch in our "treehouse" during the summer. It is actually just the platform of our playset, but it is nestled into some bushes, so it looks like a tree house.
We also make a "nest" by pushing our loveseat and sofa together when we have family movie night.

I love to have a Saturday where my husband and I can sleep in, take our dog on a walk, eat a nice lunch and watch movies. Just be together and relax without having to be anywhere in particular.
    Thanks for the giveaway opportunity!

One of my favorite family traditions is "pajama runs." After the kids are already in their pjs and bedtime is close, my husband or I yell "pajama run" - and we make a quick trip for an ice cream or smoothie :)

We live close to the mountains and love to go hiking. Now that our son is 3 we can go on small hikes and take our 9month old daughter in the backpack.

At the end of the day, after the kid's baths and everyone is in their comfy sleep clothes we have SNUGGLE TIME!! We sit on the couch all together and watch tv or read. Our twins are only 3-years old so it is a great time to just be together and have a lovefest.

    Hi Ali,
My favorite thing to do as a family is eat dinner together. No matter how hectic life is we always do this as a family, with the TV off. I'm a stay at home mom with a 2 year old and a 2 month old and I love to hear my 2 year old ask her daddy: "So daddy, how was your day?".

One of my favorite things to do as a family is read books at bedtime. The current favorite is Olivia. We also have a book of animal poems that my son loves. It is a nice relaxing way to end our evening and say our goodnites.

Thanks, Ali! This book is on my wish list. :) My favorite thing to do with my kids (2 and 4 yr old) is cook. They both pull their chairs up to the counter and help in whatever way they are able. We all love it. Take care!

We love to read together as a family. Every night before the girls go to sleep we all pile onto our bed and read a book or two. It has become a family ritual that we all look forward to.

    Hi there,
    This book looks amazing!
My favourite way to be together with my family always enjoys a good meal and good laughs. For some reason when we get together it doesn't take long for us all to be roaring and building memories :-)

My favorite time with all four of us is just hanging around on our king-size bed - lots of cuddling/giggling/"I love you"s ensues. I have Soulemama on my rss feed, she's great!

We have a young family - my kids are 4 and 2 - and my husband is very busy trying to build his business. So when we do have time to spend together as a family, it is pretty rare. ANY time that we can carve out where everyone is available and awake becomes family time. If we only have a few minutes in bed in the morning, it is snuggles and tickles. If we've got a few hours on a Saturday morning it is a trip to the park. And whenever we can, we try to eat dinner together.

Amanda has an awesome blog and ideas! Our family fun is just being together for anything; a meal, a wedding, a birthday...having family surround each other and re-living memories - especially with my 91 year old Father-in-law. We especially love these times at his cabin in the mountains. If only the snow would melt so we could get there!

Our favorite family times revolve around the dinner table. We are all talking and laughing, sometimes many of us have books that we are reading, other times I will read aloud a book, we play I spy or fill in a mad lib. Then other times we just talk about what is going on in our lives. We have prayed for people...dinner for us is just a great time to connect.

We love to travel together! The adventure of deciding what we do and see each day plus hearing the kids reference things we did on our trips in their everyday life is just a rush! Thanks for the fun question!

When the boys were little we would read books together, sit in the floor and play with lincoln logs, legos, cars, etc with them. Was such fun having all 4 of us playing together or yes or laying in the floor and watching cartoons or movies together. Now that they are grown, I/we enjoy our meals with them or sport/school functions. With my youngest just graduating from High School, it will be interesting to see what the future holds for us as a family. Thanks for the give away

    Hi Ali,
My favorite thing to do with my 3-year old son Parker is our bedtime routine. I *love* tucking him into bed at night! He tells me to "snuggly, buggly boo" him and "cover up the piggies". I enjoy that each night when he says his prayers he chooses to GOD BLESS different people that he loves- it's so precious!!!

Lately our favorite has been playing frisbee together... I have an 8 yr old daughter and a 3 and a half yr old son. We play for hours, right up until it's too dark to see the frisbee fly through the air! And when it's not nice enough to play outside, we love family movie night with popcorn all snuggled up on the couch.
Look like a great book, thanks for yet another great give-away Ali!
