Three Things : Weekdays + Creative Family Giveaway

Threethings_weekdays

One of the things that remains constant for all of us are the days
of the week. Each day of our lives present new stories to tell. When I
am on the lookout for supplies I gravitate towards anything that
includes the days of the week or some sort of calendar/date component. These are great supports for my everyday style of picture-taking and scrapbooking.

1. 7gypsies A Year In The Life clear stamps : Completely universal. I especially like stamps such as these that can be used on so many different projects.

2. Days of the week stickers from Papier Valise : Click on the paper section of her shop to access these stickers. Watch out, this shop has tons of great stuff. I also love the French days of the week stickers.

3. Teresa Collins Journal It collection : A bunch of the pieces in this collection include a calendar or day of the week accents (scroll down the link to see more of the collection).

Today's giveaway is a book I have been recently treasuring: The Creative Life: How To Encourage Imagination and Nurture Family Connections by Amanda Soule.

This is one of those books I wish had been available before Simon was born. So many ideas for cultivating creativity and appreciating nature and living a very full and joyfully simple existence. A great gift for a new Mom or someone with small children in the house.

You can read more about Amanda on her wonderful blog: SouleMama.

Leave a comment below and let me know what is your favorite thing to do as a family that brings you closer together. A random winner will be chosen on Wednesday night around 5pm Pacific.

Our favorite activity to do lately is to go on a bike ride. The kids sit in the trailer and enjoy the scenery while my husband and I get some exercise.

We always sit and eat dinner together. It's a great time to share stories from our day and to focus on each other.

As a Mother of four sweet children, we love to sit at the dinner table and talk about our day. Dinner can last a LONG time doing this, but it is a highlight we look forward to each day. We love spending time as a family no matter what we do. Thanks for sharing your family moments and ideas with us.

We love holidays at our house! We celebrate all the big ones, of course, but we love to do fun (and funny!) things for some of the more obscure holidays. Colorful napkins, decorations and cool food are definitely a must for any holiday.
Thanks for the heads up on this book! Looks like a great one.

As a family. That's a toughie. There are so many. With teens and a grade schooler. I love to travel and to have them see new things. There individual responses are priceless. Also, a given. Laughing. Together. About anything, anywhere.

I love when we can get the whole family together for a meal and then tell stories afterwards. My family has a lot of stories to tell and it's funny to see how the stories grow each time.

Bike riding. While I was growing up I babysat for a family down the street with a creative mama. One of the ways she connected with her family (and kept them fit) was bike riding almost every day. I still love nothing more than a bike ride with my dad.

We love to have dance parties together, where we put on old motown cd's and laugh and dance together! My 13 year old daughter, 10 year old son, my husband and I will dance all at once or take turns making everyone else crack up at our antics!!

I love her soule mama blog. I've been looking for this book in our local bookstore and at the library but no dice.
My husband and I are just starting to try and begin a family so I would love this book. My parents weren't very creative but we did go camping often and tell stories at night by the campfire.
    thanks

Our daughter Carlynn is 13 months old. I think it is important to start activity early. We take walks as a family. Carlynn and our labradoodle, Rufina, enjoy getting out to see nature and my hubby and I enjoy the exercise.

we love to go out for a walking in the nature, around a lake or in the forest. There are amazing places to walk here where we live and our kids are very good walkers already, and they are only 33 and 15 months old! we also treasure our dinner time, being together around the table every evening and talking is for us a "must".

We enjoy going to the neighborhood playground together. Love the title of the book! As we "find our way" in parenting our 18 month old daughter we're actively looking for ways to encourage creativity and to discover her unique gifting.

one of the things that we really enjoy doing as a family is working in the garden together. i love to watch kenny teach ethan how to become a steward of our land . . .even if at this point in time it is only in the garden and not out in our fields! we all work together to grow our own produce . . .can't wait to pick that first ripe tomato!

We're an outdoors family so our favorite things gravitate toward anything camping or water related. On our beach vacations we always collected shells and other beach treasures then came up with great ideas on using them for creative art projects later.

We take our 4 year old son kayaking with us. He fits nicely in one of our single kayaks and he loves being on the water. (My husband and I trade off having our son in the boat with us, so we can also enjoy being in the boat on our own too.)
My husband and I enjoy just being out in nature with him. It has become a great activity to do right after dinner when the weather is nice. I highly recommend it!

Family popcorn night. Sunday nights we have family and close friends in for popcorn and movie night. It is a tradition I hope my kids will remember. Good lesson in hospitality too!

I already have (and LOVE!) the book, so you can pick someone else, but wanted to share our favorite family time activity (which is not in the book). We love playing games together. Our four year old can finally play at least a couple of board games, which we love. I remember my own family building memories and moments together around a game on the dining room table. And we still do...

One of my favorite things to do with my family is to "chillax" at my sister's place, snack on our traditional ethnic foods (Filipino) and tell the family stories; those of our childhood and those even farther back, like my mom's memories from before my sister and I were born. I've learned so much about my heritage; I can imagine that I was there and it help me not to forget from where I come.

My favourite thing to do right now with my three year old is garden. I am a bit of a perfectionist and find with most activities I get agitated cause she isn't "doing it right" and then I get angry at myself for being agitated. In the garden I am much more relaxed and how can she dig a hole wrong? Because I let her do it her way she enjoys it so much and loves that she can get dirty.
My husband is quite relaxed with her outside as well and gives her little jobs to do and baby sister sits and watches all of us. Sigh. I love summer and love our garden. :D

We have a 3 week old son (our first) so we are just learning how to be a family together. So far our favorite thing is to load baby up in the sling and go for a nice walk. I would love to get some ideas from that book - love SouleMama's blog!
