Sitting

I find myself spending lots of time on the couch with little Anna in my arms these days.

This past weekend we moved ourselves over to my parents couch on the Oregon coast. It was a great little getaway and change of scenery. Anna and I stayed on the couch most of the time while Simon got to get outside and run in the dunes, in the tall grass, and on the beach with Grandma & Grandpa.

Simongrass

Grandma and Simon also had a chance to make a cake so we could celebrate Anna's almost one-month birthday. Don't you think it is almost always a good time for cake (especially one with rainbow sprinkles on top)?

Weekend

Good times (especially when you get to wear your striped pj's all day).

Back at home now and hoping to make some more progress this week getting used to our new normal. Finding myself wanting to get some things done...and get off the couch a bit more at least in the mornings.

Oh my gosh do you look like your Mom!
My sister just had a girl 2 weeks ago (she has another daughter and I have 2 daughters. Obviously if I have a sister, my parents have 2 daughters So we are offically a family of girls.)

The last picture Simon looks so tall with his legs up in the car! He seems to be growing leaps and bounds these days.
Anna is so beautiful. Spent time with our new 1 month old cousin over the weekend and I wanted to do nothing but hold her and have her snuggle with me on the couch it was precious.

Oh listen to what everyone is saying...lol. My sweet grand daughter will be one in 2 weeks and she will hardly give you a snuggle at all anymore, got lots of running around to do, figuring out how to terrorize the cat or climb up the stairs...

Enjoy your time on the couch, it will be gone before you know it. Just bring in a small table to work on and you can do both. Glad everything is going well with the new addition.

The photo of you and Anna brought tears to my eyes. You see, as I look up from my computer, MY Anna (now 14) is sitting across from me. She, & her 11 year old sister, Amy, are home for Spring Break. The years go by SO fast, so DO NOT be too quick about getting up from that couch!

I know what you mean. I spent 4-weeks hanging on the couch (and in my bed) with my new baby. But by the time that 5-week rolled around I was feeling the urge to do stuff again. That urge made returning to work on week 7 easier. Although I miss my baby girl while I'm at work.

Getting things done?? You ARE! On the couch is what two females in the Edwards household need most right now. The males can do quite well as you know. Western culture is so full of..beans..about getting up and Doing Things when mamas and babies are just fine, just being.
As you say, cherish these moments.

I think there are times to do 'things' and there are times to just 'Be'. This is one such time to just 'be' and most things can wait another day. That gorgeous baby is growing and changing by the minute. Every minute is one to watch, remember and imprint in your mind (and heart).
Enjoy both of your beautiful children. This is 'your' time.
