Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

My word is Family. I want to spend more time with my family. We already do a lot together, but my kids are growing so quickly. I want to spend more time just hanging out and doing fun kid stuff and less time on distractions, like the computer.

My word: ENCOURAGE. My actions: to continually choose to use words that will encourage my children and husband, to daily make time to be encouraged by God's word, and to make time to encourage my and my children's creativity.

My word is LISTEN. I need to LISTEN more to what people are saying or feeling before responding. I also need to LISTEN to my body and so what I can to improve my health and diet. LISTENING to the earth as well... I plan to take the bus or bike to work whenever I can this year. I hope that I can stick to these!

My word for this year is PEACE. I have looked up a number of Scriptures that relate to the peace that God gives, and one that struck me so powerfully is in Colossians, where Paul emplores us to live in peace and to be thankful. I make a "book of days" each year so that I record the events of the year and glue in some keepsakes of that year--in September I put in my "sick day survival kit," consisting of the wrappers from the tea bags I used during the three days I was out sick. I am taking up Amy Sorensen's "write each day" challenge so that I can record the daily quest for PEACE.

Last year my word was PRINT! As in print more photos. I didn't do so good at it. It definitely needs action. Maybe I need to schedule reminders to spend time each week or month sorting and uploading!

My word is REFINE, and part of my focus on that word is decluttering my house and my life. I've already started today with my kitchen. I'm going through my mish-mash of mugs and glasses, and purging a bunch. I'm sending what I don't need along to my cousin, who just got her first apartment and has very little.

Happy New Year! I am trying to see the beauty in everything or in other words the positive and this means even when something isn't the outcome you had hoped for (entering a card contest and not winning for instance). There is still something valuable in the experience or lesson to learn. Thank you for the chance to win.

I still haven't picked my word but I'm liking simplify. I've been removing activities from our overscheduled month so we have more time to be together as a family.

There are so many words that I need this year. I really need to work on healing. I learned in 2009 that it takes a long time for a broken heart to heal. I also really want to focus on my physical self this year. It's time for me to get in shape and be happy with myself. If I had to choose one word, I think it would just be "GROW". I think every one of us is on a path of growth. I'm just going to focus on it a little more this year.

I've realised the importance of routine. That's how I'm going to change my life this year. Things go so much better for me when I make them routine rather than trying to squeeze them into my day.
