Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:

When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

My word this year is family. I want to spend more time together and do intentional things to create memories and have fun. I also want to do a better job of documenting our family's time together. My boys love to hear about when they were little or how their daddy and I met.

I just returned home from a cruise so I haven't done much yet about any of my resolutions. However, tomorrow I am hitting the treadmill, I don't care how many good football games are on!

Because of you Ali - I have been doing the "word of the year" each year since 2008. In 2008 I chose the word "persevere". My daughter who has special needs finally crawled! I lost 30 lbs! In 2009, my "word of the year" was "act". I lost another 10 lbs - and my daughter is almost walking. This year - my "word of the year" is CHOOSE. I am going to choose to be my daughter's voice and advocate and choose to be my very best self - and 2010 will be the year she walks! :)

Ali~ Love, love, love those word necklaces! Thanks for all the great giveaways.
My word this year is TRUE....
I want to be true to myself and my needs....and sometimes this means saying "NO" to things I feel obligated to do. It means taking time each day to pray and meditate on whats going on in my life and my heart. Sometimes we get so caught up in the busyness of life that we forget our purpose and what/why it is we are existing in the first place. I'm going to strive to take time to be TRUE every day. =)

Hi Ali - My kids say I don't laugh enough anymore, and I don't know where that went. I'm new to your blog, and love it, and has inspired me to loosen up my scrap 'rules' - a lot, and just be free. So thank you for that - and I'm hoping that's my first step in laughing more. Word of the year - laugh - even when my 11 month old, Lucy, decides not to sleep. Thanks!

I've got a small goal I'm calling OPAW: One Page A Week, and One Project A Week. The projects will be things around the house like organize a cupboard or backup pictures. And then I'm hoping to get one layout (at least) done a week.

My word for 2010 is Simplify. I am commited to starting the enormous task of decluttering with baby steps: cleaning out my purse, cleaning out my bible. I tend to get overwhelmed with the Big Picture of Simplifying and never actually doing much to actually obtaining that goal. This year I've decided that baby steps will do just fine to get me to that goal.

What a wonderful giveaway! I'm trying to live a more healthy lifestyle this year - mostly with eating well, but also to exercise and keep stress down. So one thing I'm doing is to make haelthy larger suppers, so that I can take healthy leftovers to work.
Thanks for all the inspiration, your work has inspired me so much!

i'm not a big resolution maker, and i can't come up with just 1 word to focus on {there are just so many good ones: family, faith, prayer, love, moment, live . . .} but i'm going to try to start off the new year by drinking only water and skim milk. way too many of my calories come from nutritionally void beverages, so i'm gonna give it a shot. 3 days of headaches so far from no caffeine, but that will eventually go away, right? i'm not shooting for the whole year, just to start out this way and hope and pray that dr. pepper and almond lattes and chai lattes loose all appeal! we'll see . . .
    thanks for the giveaway!

Well, I know I have missed your cutoff, but was catching up on your blog and wanted to comment. I don't think I yet have a word, but your 365 days overlay kit has inspired me to start my 365 days for 2010, and to do a year in review for my 4 year old. Perhaps ORGANISE??? Start the year with a clean slate and move forward with many exciting projects. Thanks for such an inspiring body of work!!!

I usually don't make resolutions, but have been so inspired by your idea of word of the year that I decided this year I would start that same tradition. For my word, I am choosing PASSION. I want to live a life where I am passionate about every little thing that I do on a daily basis. Life is so short...I want to make sure that I am making the most of each day.

Ali, you are SO inspiring. as always. My word for 2010 is your word from a couple years ago: Vitality. Turning 40 this past October has made me think about a lot of things in the past few months, namely that I don’t feel as well as I should. So this is my focus for the new year! To take better care of myself in all areas. A whole living approach to health and wellness- Physical. Mental. Spiritual. Creative.
My first action was to download Christine Kane’s Word of the Year Worksheet and I am still working through it, but so far I love it. My next action will be to do something creative with my word to hang above my desk in my studio/craft room. I am VERY excited for 2010!
