Home Front Giveaway

SC_JANReveal_Newsletter1

Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.

One person will receive the January main kit from Studio Calico.

The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.

At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.

off.  With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else.  Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.

Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.

Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop.  You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself!  And
don’t forget dad or baby.  Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

CREATE: Beyond the thought of doing something - to actually take action and follow through on the daily inspirations that come to me... I struggle with prioritizing myself most days, and what makes me the happiest at times is to spend a few moments doing something artistic. It is my intention for 2010 to create many things this year: organized spaces, drawings, canvases, scrapbooks, sewing projects, and even sharpen skill sets such as pottery and photography. Beyond all intentions, I need to CREATE time and space for these things to happen. I am a relatively new mom, and for that reason alone, I need to make time for some self-nourishing activities.
2010 needed an action word... CREATE.

Our word is "clean" this year. We are a family of 6, with a three month old baby girl and I am amazed by how much clutter there is in our home. We are asking our kids to take part in helping to keep themselves and our home "cleaner" by picking up after themselves and each other. My husband is in the Army with the 101st and is getting ready to deploy for a year. If we each do our part, that year will go by a lot quicker (and easier).

Last year I spent so long trying to come up with the perfect word that I never ended up choosing one at all. This year I am going to set a deadline for myself. Next week Jan. 10, 2010 (or sooner) I will select a word whether it is perfect or not.

Happy New Year !I chose my word 2 days ago since it had so many connotations-it is BELIEVE-so I can "believe" I can do the long term, the short term and all in between, especially on the days that I am overwhelmed with the wifey, mommy and family multitasking duties of it all.

My word for the year is STEWARDSHIP. I think that I am drawn to this right now because I need to take responsibility for all of the blessings in my life and be good stewards to them. Stewardship the concept of responsible caretaking and I have so much to care for. Myself, my family, my home, my finances, my gifts and talents. My first step in working this OLW into my daily life will be making something visual to remind me daily of all that I have to care for. Of course I will use what I have to make this piece in my attempt to me a good steward of my money and I will not take forever to complete it in my attempt to be a good steward of my time.

My word is PRESENT for two reasons: 1. to live in the present 2. My life is a gift. My action to live in the present is to be more organized in order to spend more time with my family and enjoy the present.

My word of the year is "enjoy". I am returning to work next week after maternity leave. I want to try to 'be present' and truly enjoy every moment outside of work that I have at home with my baby.

My word this year is CREATE. The last few years I have been overwhelmed with my life as a wife, mother, duaghter of God, friend, ect. I feel like I missed out on a lot ot things. So this year I will CREATE; TIME to play on the floor with my 3 girls, MEMORIES and not just 'survive' each day, more LOVE for my husband, myself, and my girls, and THINGS that make me happy, like scrapbooking, sewing, photos, and art. I want to CREATE my year and not just be a bystander wishing things could be different.

Hi Ali and Happy New year! I love your "Word of the Year" idea, and I have chosen "Evolve" as mine for 2010. There have been many changes for me and my family these past couple of years, and many to come - plus many goals we are working for. I have found that with each change I have had a choice - to stew, worry, or react emotionally - or pause, look for the opportunity or potential for growth - and then evolve.
I love this word because it makes me think of positive growth, moving towards something better and reminds me that I have a choice. The steps I have taken so far in regards to my word are: Developed a strategic goal plan, made a list of new habits I am forming to "evolve" into the person I would like to be and started a gratitude journal.

My word of the year is consistency. I want to be consistent in my actions - at work and at home. My first step is to resume my regular work out routine tomorrow morning with a walk/run with the dog.

I don't know if I still have time or not but I thought I would post anyway! I have been having trouble finding a word for what I want out of 2010. I have a lot I want to do and accomplish this year, so I need a word that reflecs that and also to reflect the understanding and knowledge that if I don't get it all done, that it is okay. I think I will choose BELIEVE. I need to believe in myself that I can accomplish what I want regardless of the timing of it. I need to believe that my family and friends can also help me in my quest! Thanks Ali!

I haven't discovered my word yet. ORGANIZE keeps coming to mind, because this weekend marked the 7th move in 4 1/2 years of marriage. But our first child just turned 9 months old, so ENJOY strikes a chord with me as well, to slow down and cherish these moments with her. Whatever the word is that evolves into my word for the year, it will make me a better person. The word will help guide me to a more peaceful family life and a stronger spiritual life.

Wow - these giveaways are amazing. Thank you for the opportunity to win.
My word for this year is stories also. I wasn't trying to copy you, but as I "tried out" various other words, I kept coming back to this one. With a 16 year old daughter and an almost 12 year old son, I am super aware of time passing and the stories that I need to record - of their lives and also mine, so they will have these stories when I'm no longer around. So much I'd like to ask my mom and I can't . . .
