Sponsor Giveaways : Studio Calico, Memory Works, Lisa Leonard, & Designer Digitals
Three people will win the entire Home Front collection (papers, stickets, journaling cards, and FabRips) from Studio Calico.
The concept of Studio Calico began long before it was a reality. In 2000, while working at a local scrapbook store, April developed an appreciation for innovative supplies along with a respect for preserving memories. Thus, the concept of combining fresh products with non-traditional scrapbook supplies emerged.
At Studio Calico, we hope to encourage the creative process by providing the best supplies on the market as well as a community that is supportive every step of the way.
In the past 2 years we've grown from an idea, to a small boutique of sorts, to manufacturing our own products. As we've grown, we've stayed true to the basics, while looking to the future.
Three people will receive the lovely Word Of The Year necklace from Lisa Leonard Designs.
In addition Lisa is offering a discount for readers. Enter "myword15" for 15% off your purchase.
Here's a bit about Lisa and her business:
When
California girl and young mom, Lisa Leonard decided to start her small
jewelry business five years ago, she had no idea how things would take
off. With a fresh perspective and an artist’s heart she set about
making jewelry that could not be found anywhere else. Her
hand-stamped, sterling silver jewelry is setting the trends and is
loved by women all over the world.
Her hand-wrought creations have been featured in several
national magazines, such as Parenting Magazine, Pregnancy Magazine,
Victoria Magazine and Wondertime. Online outlets are singing the
praises of Lisa Leonard Designs, including Cookie Magazine and
Glamour.com. Celebrities also love her line, including Josie Bissett,
Jason and Naomi Priestly and Jennie Garth.
Each piece is hand-cut, hammered, stamped, polished and
drilled with care in her California workshop. You’ll find the perfect
gift for a friend, grandmother, sister or of course, yourself! And
don’t forget dad or baby. Lisa offers custom keychain and baby spoons
that will warm the heart.

My word is 'Blessed' - sometimes everyone needs a shoulder to lean on in this very changing and dangerous world, be it a family member or just a friend.

my word for 2010 will be... THANKFUL. I lost my job near the end of '09 due to the store where I worked closing and at first I was in a panic. Being a single mom with 3 growing boys to feed and now no income, I wondered how on earth we would make it. But when I started looking at things in a new way I realized how very much I still have to be thankful for... unemployment benefits (they may not be much but I'm thankful there's at least something coming in while I try to find another job), 3 healthy kids, a roof over our heads, food in the fridge and pantry and a circle of family and friends that love us. So every day I will remind myself that even though times are tough, there is still so much to be THANKFUL for.

My one little word is COMMIT - I tend to jump here and there throughout my day not giving anything 100% of my attention. In 2010 I plan to commit to what I am doing 100% - so when my son wants to play I'll do that without thinking about the load of laundry I need to do... And so on and so on.

I already made a 12x12 layout about my word, Present. I want to be more present when I spend time with my girls - not thinking about anything else but enjoying my time with them. I also want to make a banner to hang in my scrap area all year. Thanks for the chance to win - this is my first year to choose a word!

My word is "leap." I am going to stop over thinking everything and start doing! Today I got up early and went for a hike with my dog then attended a new church closer to home which I ended up loving, and I signed up for the BPS class "Design your Life." All things I was thinking about doing for so long. Today I simply did them!
Happy New Year!

first, I plan as last year to do a journal page about the meaning of the work to me. I will look for "quotes" using it, and Bible verses that will help bring it to mean more to me. I like your idea from last year about cutting the word out of periodicals when I see it and pasting them on a page, so I'd like to do that. And I think I may have to order a necklace with my word on it!

My word is submissive. I want to be more submissive to word of the Lord as he leads my family. This wil be struggle for me, since I honestly only think of the Lord once I have "flubbed" something up :^)

My word for theis year is Nest. I want to focus on creating a life of comfort and security for my family - by organizing and freshening up our home, but taking control of our schedule to include family down time, by narrowing my focus to take better care of those within my nest more often.

That Studio Calico kit looks like so much fun and I love the jewelry from Lisa Leonard. I am actually still thinking about my word, I've come up with a few but just can't pin one down. Patience is high on my list.... so many good words!

My word for this year is HOPE..
I struggling with optimism and embracing change. It does not come easy for me and often comes with internal battles.
I HOPE to change some of that this year.
I am HOPEful that I can accomplish the things that I want to do to make myself a better, happier and more productive person.
I HOPE that I can do it slowly and effectively, doing only one thing at a time.
Remember Red, hope is a good thing, maybe the best of things, and no good thing ever dies." -- Andy Dufrense, The Shawshank Redemption
Thanks for letting me get these thoughts organize..even if I don't win, I get the reason why I chose this word for myself.

My word is WELLNESS. To kick off "my word", I am having hysterectomy - at the age of 35 - that will hopefully get me well again. After a crappy 2009, I need to be well for 2010 - mentally and physically.

Pursue is my word for 2010. I want to pursue all the opportunities that life has to offer. Specifically, I've always wanted to start running but never took the chance. This year, I've already registered for a St. Patrick's Day 5k race.
Happy New Year, Ali. Great sponsor gifts.

I think I am going to resolve to pick the word that keeps coming up over and over again instead of searching for the 'perfect' word this year. I keep finding myself coming back to the word FOCUS. I can see it's potential impact and I think I've decided to just let it happen. :-)
