PEEK AT THE PROCESS
| I knew three things for sure when I started the creative process for the layout featured above:

1. I wanted to use the photo of Simon reading in the tree and I wanted it to be bigger than 4x6.
2. I wanted to use the July 2010 stamp set.
3. I wanted to use elements from the Studio Calico September 2010 kit.

I started by cutting out the strip of numbers from the Jenni Bowlin pattern paper. At this point in the process I wasn't too sure what the end layout design was going to look like but I had a general idea to use that number strip as an anchor along the bottom of the main content.

After stamping the Capture Life rectangle above on the cream cardstock I decided to repeat that basic shape using pattern papers (sometimes I just stamp and go for it). I love the technique of repetition.

To give the design a bit of variety I mixed up the height of the rectangles.

Each of the pattern paper rectangles was adhered to the cream cardstock. I added a bit of stitching around two of them. These rectangles would make great homes for additional embellishments if you were creating a page similar to this and wanted to add more.

As you might notice I ended up cutting out this whole area with the cream cardstock background and adhering it to white cardstock.

My initial plan was to have the chipboard title just along the top. I ended up adding "& Read A Book" towards the end of the process. Because that all happened at the end I trimmed some white cardstock off the top to make the margins between the edge of the chipboard letters and the cardstock even.

To complete the page I adhered it to the dark navy lined pattern paper and added zig zag stitching and a little bit of journaling.

I would love to see stamps with a "pet" theme -- sorry, dogs would be more interesting to me than cats. Dogs are the lifeblood of a peaceful life -- mine lower my blood pressure and make me feel love. I'm so grateful for them.....

I would love to see a set of stamp patterns. I've always admired how you mix patterned papers together on a layout, like combining geometric w/ florals.

I'd be interested in circle designs with words, numbers, borders -- especially in sizes that work with common circle punch sizes.

I agree with many of the previous comments - an interesting date set would be helpful for scrapbooking. For cards I always seem to make Thank-yous & Happy Birthdays - so something geared toward those themes would be nice. Oh, and I love "botanical" type looks - leaves, grasses, vines, etc are very appealing to me. Thanks for the chance to win - I really enjoy using your products!

I would not be able to resist a stamp set that was mother/daughter/sister/friend - celebrating that relationship, because my mom, sister & I are all best friends. I couldn't turn down a boy stamp set that was older than "baby" and younger than "guitars, skateboards, etc." Besides robots & trucks, there is little out there for our young boys (like age 4-7'ish). Thanks for the opportunity, Ali!

Hey Ali!! Love the stamps and your new website! I think what I would like to see from you in stamps is a set with a school theme. I am doing the yearbook scrapbook project with my son's class that Becky Higgins did and now has for download on her site and it would be great to have some stamps to go with that since they would be pretty simple to add to the layouts. I also use her school years scrapbook kit and the stamps would be nice to use there.
Thanks for the chance to win... would love to be a member of the club but just can't afford it right now =(
