Tuesday Morning In Photos

Around here just a touch of snow often results in a no-school day.

She was excited to have him home.

She caught him up on what's been happening on Sesame Street...

and Sid The Science Kid.

And then it was time to check out the white stuff.

It was cold. And icy.

They were happy to come back inside after a quick little visit to our neighbor.

And then she was ready to play in her kitchen while he played with legos.

We also had a quick visit from my Dad who drove over from the coast bearing a gift of fresh dungeness crab. One of the things he loves to do is to go crabbing - the other day he caught a bunch and cracked it all for us to enjoy at Thanksgiving.

My Mom sent me these photos (can you see that organizing might run in the family) of the picking process.

Thanks Dad! We wish you guys could be here for Thanksgiving!

Today I'm planning to spend some time in the kitchen making a couple things ahead of time for tomorrow: Pioneer Woman's mashed potatoes and her pecan pie, a chocolate pudding pie per Simon's request, and some crab dip.

I look forward to your "snow" photos every year. It is such a world away from our summer christmas here in Australia and your photos are such picutre postcards - I love them. Thanks for sharing.

lol. we have received our 2nd dump of snow and although the kiddos are still too little to go to school, our city (Vancouver, BC) often shuts down completely for snow. today's dump melted by the time we got home so the kids didn't get out and play, so disappointing for them. love the pics and the crab, well, <3 it. it's usually one of our christmas dinner dishes.

    Love these "everyday photos"!
Happy Thanksgiving! We don't celebrate this in Sweden, but reading about it here and there made me look up both Thanksgiving and Black Friday on the wiki - so know I know a bit more about it :-)

I made PW's pecan pie for a dinner party earlier this month and it was fantastic. So glad I used her recipe for my first attempt at pecan pie. Yum! Hope you guys had a great holiday. Headed home from our week-long celebration in TX and anxious to get to work on Dec Daily!
