Have to say fudge! That was one treat I remember as a child, we always had a Christmas and never any other time. Now, I only make it at Christmas...just because that is the way it supposed to be.

My family always has pizza and cheese dip for our Christmas Eve dinner. This started when we were kids and became a tradition, and I look forward to it each season!!

Hmmm, it wouldn't really be a thing but instead it would be Mom's homecooking. I wouldn't care if it was a spread like we do for the holidays (turkey and all the fixing or an Vietnamese feast) or just a simple dinner ... heck or a big bowl of any of the Vietnamese soups. Sure, I can cook it but it's never the same and some how Mom's just tastes so much better. I guess you can say it's because it's been cooked with love.

Now that I'm older, I appreciate Mom's homecooking but nowadays, I'd prefer to be in the kitchen with her cooking the meal. I don't live near home anymore, so I don't get homecooking :( But when I'm home I take full advantage of cooking with her. I won't be seeing her this Christmas but next month we're meeting up near my hometown to go to my Gramma's (her Mom) for my uncle's wedding and we've already agreed, we're going to cook up a storm. This is going to be great since I don't get to spend Vietnamese (Chinese) New Year's with her - our trip ends before then so we'll do it a little early. I can' wait, as I haven't seem Gramma since 2007!

Sorry for the long ... very long comment. I got a little carried away!

my favorite food to eat is the Pata Tim dish which my eldest brother used to cook for us whenever we have time to be with the whole family. It's always makes me happy just to think or to say the name. Just hoping one day, we can all meet again and spend X'mas with the whole family again :D

Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.

Hmmmm . . . prior to going gluten-free, it wasn't Christmas until I'd had my mom's Cranberry bread -- a Christmas morning tradition since I was a little girl! I haven't had it in a few years, but I do miss it!!
